Why do people bash TKD?
ramymensa replied to Wheezy's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
I have to agree with all the people who blame the Olympic TKD for this. I have seen it in "action" and i was shocked. How much damage can this competition style do to a good style. If you judge TKD from this perspective only, then you'll be inclined to think it's not a good style. But the fact is that TKD is just as good as any if trained properly. But many people don't have the time or understanding to see the other side too, so they rish into bashing it. -
I have never used a Mac since in my country we don't have such a big market for them. I have heard about the possibility to run Windows on them from some fellow web designers.

Learning from a Teaching experience.
ramymensa replied to bushido_man96's topic in Instructors and School Owners
I have started understading my techniques better when teaching them or helping other students. It's a great way to learn since you explain and show thus explaining everything to yourself too. -
Now I am not going anymore (I'm in a small pause). But I used to go 4 times a week.

A new change
ramymensa replied to karatekid1975's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Karatekid, so glad to hear about this. I'm sure you'll feel very nice, so afterall it's a very good option (financially and not only). I agree with the fact that you need little time to realise if it's good or bad since you have a lot of experience in the art. Have a great time there and don't forget to keep us posted on this -
Don't know if it helped or not. For my easy times on the period I should thank my oral contraceptives, the pill seems to do a great job. I have always trained while on my period, I was a bit weak, but it was OK.

Well, I wash mine. In the end it's equipment as my karategi. I have a clean karategi, don't know why I should have a dirty belt. i am not that into the "spiritual" beliefs I'm afraid

Hi there and welcome to KF

We're not told anything like this. In our Shotokan federation Shodan can be obtained after 6-7 years. We never had 2 years as timespan. That would scream to me MCdojo, when someone tells me I will get my BB in x years of trainig

Politics in your Dojo, how do I stay out of it?
ramymensa replied to Fat Donkey's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
This is a problem in many clubs. Instead of focusing on other clubs, each instructor should just focus on the classes and making better students. I would like to train in other dojos too, provided I had the time, and I don't think I need to explain to anyone what I do with my time and my money. -

dojang related t-shirts?
ramymensa replied to younwhadoug's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
We wanted to have something like this, but the price was an issue. It's a poor country and many people won't pay for this branded thisrt, even if it's a great idea. -
Catch me now Congratulations I recall getting my coloured belts here. When I was to earn my BB on KF I posted like crazy. Dug old topics that were interesting, just to see my new rank

What was the Best Seminar that you attended? and why?
ramymensa replied to tke010's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
It's been long since I went to seminars, but one I loved a lot was held by a Goju Instructor. I am practicing Shotokan, but I loved every minute of it. -
The first option, we call it mawashi geri, I just love it
-
I like them too. Sometimes I would love a kumite session but after learning my kata I love practicing it.

I have recently got a Tokaido Kata Master from a friend in Germany. It was a gift, I can't aford such prices. The karategi is awesome still, but I hear shureido also make great ones. i think you can have a great gi no matter the choice. Both are serious brands
