  1. I like riding my bike from time to time. Now it's out of the question since it's snowing
  2. I think that in such case the idea Pacificshore gave is the best. I had a custom tailored one and I think it looked way better on me than my 2 new gis that we bought as they are, and not made for my dimensions
  3. I am a woman so many things I do are "weird" for many people: I work as a radio DJ, I am a freelance web designer and I practice Karate
  4. Such good news. Congratulations for this. what kata did you have to perform?
  5. I never studied this, but I think that the overall rule applies too: there's not a bad style, only bad instructors, students or training style. Look for a good school and just do it
  6. Cable, but I don't have the time to watch ...
  7. I never tried anything but heavy gis. It's a bit uncomfortable in the heat, but it has a positive thing: the fabric is really tough and can last a lot. I cannot aford too many gis (i have 2, one I bought and one I got as a present). They are so expensive for us (compared to our wages) that we want them to last a lifetime
  8. I started getting new appliances instead of the old ones. If all goes well this year will mean new windows, doors and a new painting for all the walls. That's gonna cost a lot
  9. I think that you need to be able to do normal pushups and have enough strength. Then the one handed pushups would be easier, as Jeet Kune Do already said. And it's a matter of balance too, but I think that you'll discover what's the best position for your hand and then be able to do the pushup
  10. I fear that some health problems can occur. It's true that most of these people are very conditioned and can take a lot of punishment, but I think that their bodies do have some limitations in the end
  11. I always assumed the "normal" stance for Shotokan. It was easy for me since I didn't train anything else but Shotokan in my life and I just don't know another way other than the "traditional" way we're taught
  12. Wanted to put a site of mine as the home page but I have 15 (or more, can't remember) ... wasn't able to chose, so Google it is
  13. I have other browser windows open: I surf this forum and post, surf others and post too, and play Travian at the same time.
  14. Congratulations for this I recall years ago the joy I had when given this colourful crown. If you got it, you deserved it, that's for sure. Wear it with pride We're looking forward to many many other posts
  15. Hey happy birthday in advance. Hope you'll have a great time
  16. I train barefoot and I also like to walk at home with no shoes. I never tried to train with shoes since I hate them. Had a lot of blisters on my feet in these years (not something too nice for a lady), but I like the blisters more than then shoes
  17. We have to go through all of them from time to time so it's impossible to forget them

    Flat Feet

I never had this problem, but the best student in our dojo has flat feet. He's the champion in all tourneys both at kata and kumite, moves fast and has an excellent technique. It looks like this didn't give him too many troubles into being an exceptional karateka
  19. Last one was Ice Age (the first movie). latest I saw at home was The devil Wears Prada (loved it a lot, watched it 7 times already)
  20. It's been a while since I "tasted" a normal book. I have been busy reading and writing web design articles and tutorials and this kinda draw me from the normal reading I used to enjoy so much .. so I am afraid I have to say... not quite reading anything right now
  21. I have discovered him recently and was impressed. I like the fact he mocks at some of the singers and I have to say he's quite good into making these parodies.
  22. It does seem that some people are afraid of MA and the people involved in this. I had my share of "weird" looks too and I just couldn't understand why ...
  23. It's hard to deal with them and I think in the end they must either learn or go. We did have some kids in the dojo that didn't belong there and after some time they realised this is not their cup of tea. They can sometimes be distracting for the others and could compromise the entire lesson
  24. Oh, so you're doing karate? I'd better be careful
