  1. I don't agree that uniforms should be regulated across a nation. But I think some schools should do it leaving a choice for people. I mean there are parent councils and the staff could have a vote to decide for that pertictular school. That way people who like uniforms could go there and those who do not like them can go to another public school, that way everyone's happy
  2. check out the link, there is a simular topic to this you will find some good recommendations there http://www.karateforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3809
  3. I was always under the impression that when Bodihirma (sp?) began the development of the martial arts (I believe shoalin kung fu altough I may be wrong) The animals whose movements he followed were... Tiger, Crane, Monkey, Leaopard and snake. And of coarse other styles developed from the adding of new animals, but I am pretty sure those were the oringinal five

  10. Well I am still in high school for two more years I am really looking forward to university! I may be one of the few teens that actually enjoys school and I could see myself doing at least 6 years of post secondary education. My latest intrest happens to be aerospace engineering. 11. well we wear uniforms and I think it is a good idea in high schools, altough I am against it in elementry schools I like the idea of uniforms because there are less forunate children in the world and uniforms are a way of them to fit in and not be judged on their appearance. They also discourage robbery, because your all wearing the same thing, and they make you feel alot more apart of a comunity of people. Now some might say that uniforms take away your individuality and I disagree. You can still do whatever you want with you hair, and pick what ever tie you want But I think in a way uniforms actually increasae individuality, because it allows people to look at each other more equally and really ge to know more of the person inside without being blinded or discouraged by clothing. Just my two cents

  16. I mean to read the art of war, but here is my question, is it dry. I find with alot of translated books they are often rather broing and I must force myself to read them, altough they do have very valuable wisdom.

  18. welcome to the boards
  19. Me neither, my goodness is this ever a hard style to research, I found one link repeated in several places but the link was no good, and didn't work. I commend the person who is able to figure this one out. It looks like your best bet would be to talk to your sensei when you see him, perhaps he can suggest you some reading or tell you something
  20. fair enough, I may have been just a little harsh then too.... And to be honest I was a little slow on catching on to what he meant by carpet munching, I guess not all teens have a sick mind ... I agree that isn't very approirate and yes you did have some good points
  21. Control your Emotions, or they will control you
  22. ok I may regret this later but I am going to get invovled in this conversation.... Firstly the comment that 360 and kick appear to be taking so much offense I took as a simple good natured joke... This was indicated to me by the laughing smilly face at the end of the post Now Diamondick made it evident in the next post that yes he does feel female atheletes do have a sexual orientation, and I can understand how some women may take offense to this....but I believe the rest of his comments in that post are generally true (depending on the intensity of the sport that is). what terminology would you be refering to? Period, I do not see how this word would be offensive to women or men, perhaps you would care to explain why this is such a terrible word? KickChick your post had made it quite clear about your possition on this topic, but I really don't see the purpose behind it, surely you can not expect to change dimondick's perception of the female athelete with one post I found this statement especally offending. What right do you have to judge men, and to say that all* men feel they have to have some kind of seperiority over women and female counter parts in a sport. What makes you any better then dimondick when you start making statements of this kind. I hold alot of respect for female atheletes and I have no problem asking them for help or training and learning under them, and under their guidance. I don't think that in todays society many men feel intimidated by female atheletes as in the past. THe men that do feel intimidated and come up with these statements are generally to insecure about their own sexuality and state of being so they come up with these rumers/statements what ever you want to call them to help them define and secure their sexuality. I believe the number of men like this is reducing. *this statement was generalize so I am assuming that you mean to speak of all or the majority of men out there. There now I have said my piece, have a good day [/b]
