  1. I love Kokyu nage, its my favourite technique. But very hard to get right. Once you have technique and momentum with Seoi nage its a real killer. Tai otoshi to it pretty snappy. Sorry Kyle San Seoi Nage, ARm throw Osotogari, Major outter reap Ouchigari, major inner reap shihonage, four direction throw Kokyu nage, breath throw.
  2. Well, I would probably go for: Aikido: Kokyu nage Shiho nage Judo: Osoto gari Ouchi gari Ippon Seoi nage. If you pop those into a search engine you'll probably get some good results.
  3. Tai Chi, is indeed a powerful system. Taking many years of dication to use effectively. Although MTF you already disagree with this. I have seen Tai Chi used very effectively by a friend of a friend out side a pub. The guy had been doing it some 6 years and was suprised at how well he did. But he does REAL Tai Chi, what I mean by that, is not just Qi gong and forms, but San Shou as well.
  4. Not my place?! I can have a opinion cant I? So I can't have input into a thread..... silly me.
  5. A yellow belt huh? I am sure thats about as good as it gets......... I on the other hand have a much different experience. My old teacher Shidoshi John Gardener (9th Dan), was pretty amazing. Just find yourself a good teacher and a system YOU are comfortable with. If you train hard, then you will get good results.
  6. Atemi waza are always useful when setting yourself up for a throw. In the majority of case's a good thrower wont be around long enough for the strike to the face, before he takes you to the floor and submits you.
  7. I agree. The key of being able to do a technique well in "real" life, is to have done it enough times that you dont even have to think about it.
  8. Sorry to say this guys, but the arguement between current and former members of staff is extremely pathetic! Not just as people but as Martial artists, you disappoint me.
  9. Get a fair bit of muscle in the tigh. Get the arm in nice and tight like Dober said, then if it does not quiet work go for an arm bar.
  10. Thats how I understand it Judo.

    10th Dans

My Sensei is an 8th dan, and her teacher is "ungradable".
  12. Wing Chun, has very little "grappling". It has lots of "trapping" though. I think it would be quite a good mix, I think I might try some WC some day. Actually, I think Sensei Segal studies some WC.
  13. Kyosho jitsu is the martial art that is headed my Sensei Dillman. It is more or less Karate/Kempo techniques with lots of pressure points. I think.
  14. Ignorance, and a complete misunderstanding of the subject.
  15. I agree with you there G95!
  16. Probably better, seeing as Judo is where the MA came from. I would go check it out before signing up for anything.
  17. Having experienced open hand strikes I would say that they are very powerful. Ofcourse, they have to be against the right targets or you just going to get sprained fingers.
  18. Combat Ki, this is an oxymoron. Ki is the spirit of the universe, central to peace and harmony. To put the word combat before it does not really make any sence at all.
  19. Mentally prepare yourself to FIGHT TO THE DEATH! MWHAHAHAHAHA
  20. That does seem a little pricey, I get 16 hours of Aikido for about £150-170 (GBP)
  21. Kempo, Shotokan, Goju, Kyoshinkai, Uechi Ryu, Hsing I, Ba Gua, Tai CHi, Mauy Thai, Boxing........ well any striking style really.
