  1. Well, You can use it in points fighting for our karate, but yeah, its just fun. You can learn things for enjoyment instead of practicallity too ^^
  2. Well I had the idea to start my log of what I eat and the exercise I have each day. Feel free to comment on what to improve/change. [Hope making this topic is okay btw ^^] I'll start with what I ate at what times, then training. Woke up at about 6:30 and had a muller light strawberry yogurt for breakfast. 10am came, and its break time, so I had a Innocence Manga and Passion fruit smoothy [100% fruit, nothing else] about 1.15pm I had my lunch where I had a ham, lettuce and cucumber sandwich, with another one of those smoothies. 6:30pm I had my main meal, which was chicken pasta bake ontop of toast with a side salad, and a glass of water. 9:30pm had toast with reduced sugar strawberry jam. 12:30am Bed time Now for training. Well, had a full day of college, so the only training I got there was walking up and down, and around the college several times. With about 4 flights of stairs a good few times ^^. 7:30pm went over to my kickboxing/karate place, and was told we were doing all fitness tonight. [Yay ]. So it started off at just before 8, and we had to run around the hall, in any direction we wanted, when sensei helen would shout change, and we'd change direction. We did that for about 15 - 20 minutes. We then started to have to sprint and jump for each square, missing one in the middle. Then doing forward rolls across the room, and then side stepping then star jumps. We stretched off, and got ready for our 'circuits'. We got into groups of 2, or 3, where one person stood at one side of the hall, and the other at the other side. We got different exercises to do, then after doing ten of them we had to run to the other side of the hall, and back, and do ten more. We did that for 2 minutes at each time. The exercises include, lying on your back doing cycling movements with your legs, power push ups, crunches, squates, lunges, sit ups, star jumps etc. After that we had to jog on the spot, and every 10 seconds we had to jog as fast as we could for ten seconds. Did that for a while then stretched off as a cool down. 12pm just before I went to bed I did about 20 press ups, and 50 sit ups, plus a few reps of my dumbells. So that was Tuesday Will post todays tomorrow.

As far as i know, they are just called 'Front Kick' 'Side Kick' etc. What other names are there i.e Mae Geri [sP?]. Next... Is your Gi just your karate suit? Another...Should I use words like Mae Geri, Gi etc instead of Front Kick and Suit. Or what? Thanks for help in advance
  11. Not to sound like an idiot, but, whats a slingbox?
  12. Well, as a boxer and kickboxer I do pad work so, I already know I have KO power... as my trainer says, weight behind my punch, is a clear 1 hit 1 KO [yes, I really just wanted to show that off ]. Also, I do self protection classes within my karate classes as part of it.
  13. And, theres nothing like a good old cross to the face
  14. at college, i walk up 4 flights of stairs about 4 times a day
  15. I always watch the UFC, or Fight Club on Europsport [K-1 stuff mainly]. Then Cage Warriors FC on The Wrestling Channel, and Cage Rage on Men & Motors. Oh and International Fighting Championship on channel 444
  16. Well, I'm about to order 'Sap' sparring gear. Wondering if anyone knew anything about them. My friend who's the scottish 70kg WKA champ told me that they were similar to TopTen, but better
  17. Haha nice, my friend Lorna lives there. I live in a small town called Buckie, on the Moray coast
  18. Well, to be honest, If I only lost a small ammount of 'weight', if I lost the fat, and got toned and gained muscle, I'd prefer it alot.
  19. I like to be versed in different styles. Although I'm not really experienced enough, I could see cross training being better as you are getting more than just one narrow view. Not saying its a bad view mind you
  20. I just loved the superman punch Was a fairly one sided fight tho, but GSP will dominate his weight catagory i think
  21. in points its stopped when contact is made. and 2 outta 3 judges must say 1 person to hit it for a point to be added. Normal hit - 1 point kick to the face - usually 2 points hit with style - 2 points kick to the head with style - 3 points keep in mind, i dnt tend to do much points, so that might be slightly wrong
  22. Well, I don't really know the 'fancy' names, but Hook kick is my fav.
  23. I saw some full contact karate stuff on Eurosport once, but thats about it
  24. Thanks for the welcomes... and bushido, i only use msn, sorry
