Roger Huerta Wins by Technical Knock Out at 0:19 in the 1st round awesome. what did he hit him with, hands, knees?

my advice: practice infront of people, get used to an atmosphere, practice, if you can, infront of a mirrow. practice your kata in different directions. get someone to video you and watch it back, so u can see problem areas

So, when training do you guys/girls listen to music? and if so what kind? i personally listen to varied types of music, if im going for speed 'shadow boxing' i listen to fast paced music, and tend to listen to metal. i.e machine head. when in class we have to listen to varied music... even ZZ Top at times i also would love to find some 'broken rythmed' music like what BL talks about, so i could train to move to its tempo etc. discuss and stuff

in a street fight there are no rules. so, whats wrong with kicking? as a martial artist, i train kicks, so of course i'd use them

Length in time to achieve black sash/belt
Symphony-x replied to stejitsu's topic in Share Your Testing, Grading, or Promotion
it all depends on how hard you train in that time frame, i know people who got their 1st dan in 2 years, but took that doesnt make them any less skilled or make the grading easier -
yeah sounds as if your trying to punch further than you can and hyperextending your joints

Symphony-x replied to poisendhearts's topic in Equipment and Gear
dummy, in my opinion, gives a much better realistic feel to training -

New to sparring-I need some crucial pointers and tips
Symphony-x replied to Jkoko's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
i was in the same position as you about 4 months ago. the first time will tire you out quickly, and you may not like it to start with but you will begin to get used to it. as for techniques, try and get the basics, front kicks, roundhouses, jabs and crosses down, then try moving more, and blocking. then slowly you'll progress from there -
Okay i currently do just sparring and freestyle kinda karate and want to self teach myself some kata for fun in my spare time. i'm not really bothered what style. tho, i did quite like one called snake fist? i saw at a competition. anyway, i was wondering if you know any instructional videos etc on the net i could start learning from? all help grately appreciated
