  1. I play guitar and bass guitar. I also enjoy biking and reading. I used to play a lot of Paintball but not so much now.
  2. Definitely the heavy bag. Best thing for kicking when you don't have someone to hold a clapper or kick pad for you.
  3. So many different worlds under ITF haha, they need to hold ONE tournament for the worlds. Thanks for those links as well.
  4. I saw the WTF post, so I thought I'd let you know that this weekend the ITF worlds are on going in Quebec. A link to the main site is here: http://www.itfwcquebec2007.com/public/anglais/ There are brackets to follow if you're interested. Apparently you have to pay to watch the webcams but I'll post any video links I come across.
  5. I usually switch between boxing and side stance. Another question though, do you bounce in your stance or are your feet fixed. I see both, and dont really know which way I should lean.
  6. Yeah he is fun to watch. I'm not sure how well h would do against an extremly skilled opponent (although the opponent he had in the second bout is respected, although he was in a different weight class) due to his hand dropping ect. He has a third match online somewhere with a more decisive ending. I would say that his cardio is not the best, as he seems quite exhausted later in the matches. Found another match: I think those are the only 3
  7. Here is another match of his: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDJlpLnbE00
  8. Perhaps you were thinking of Park Yong Soo bushido? He's not in UFC, but rather K-1 and has been touted as an example of a Traditional Martial Artist succeeding in MMA (although not without controvesy) Here is a Youtube of one of his fights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEgIb2fj2yM
  9. I like it very much, I just wish I was better at it!
  10. I'm not sure how I feel about rank demotion either, especially if he/she will be required to pay for testings again. I would prefer to see that student denied the right to test for the next upgrade rather than demotion. Did this student develop the attitude, or was it always there and ignored until they reached blue belt? Its interesting that they have stuck with it despite the demotion.
  11. I disagree with that. Picture where most 'street fights' happen. On the street of course. Concrete and asphalt. Watch a few Judo slams on youtube and then picture them being performed onto concrete instead of mats. One good judo slam could end the fight, allow you to get into a dominant position since anyone slammed would likely be at the very least, stunned, or allow you to get out of the situation. I've been considering taking a grappling class to supplement my TKD training and personally I lean towards Judo for a couple reasons. 1. Is price, locally the Judo club charges $50 a year, the BJJ charges $700. 2. I like the mix that I've seen at the judo club in regards to standup vs ground training. It was probably 70/30, where as at the BJJ club all focus was on the ground (outside of a bit of standup striking) 3. Aggression levels. This is only in regards to one local club, a lot of guys at the BJJ club seemed to fancy themselves as the next Ultimate Fighter. They were aggressive and very competitive. A lot of people seemed to be leaving hurt. Not major injuries, but more than I thought there should have been. In closing, if I were younger and had some sort of ambition to enter MMA tournaments, I'd probably go with BJJ. Even if I thought I was going to be in a ot of fights, I may go with BJJ. But in all honesty, I'm 27 and have never been in a single fight in my life. I know you should always be prepared, but if I was going to get in a fight it was more likely to be in my early 20s when I spent more times at bars, and more time on city streets after midnight. I take MA now for fun an for myself. I don't expect to have to ever use it.
  12. I enjoy training both at the dojang and at home. I would like to experience training at a park or something, but I don't think I would like to attract that much attention to myself.
  13. I wouldnt say I'm very good, but I am getting better.
  14. Since September, so about half a year.
  15. The last film I saw in the theatre was The Number 23 which is good. I haven't watched a dvd in a while, my DVD plays hasnt been working well.
  16. Very good. Congrats on the excellent decision.
  17. I believe the pro wrestler who entered K-1 was not Bob Sapp (I don't think he's been a pro wrestler, at least not in North America) but Sean O'haire. And he did quite poorly to the point of giving it up recently, I believe. On the Fight Network in Canada, I can remember two seperate times that he was the KO of the week. Not good. Personally, I don't think the switch from WWE to MMA is a good or easy one. I think that years of 'pulling' your punches would only make the world of MMA that much more difficult, not to mention the false sense of secutiry they build up from years of winning staged matches.
  18. I've never used it, and had never heard of it until earlier this year when a guy pretended to be a women and lured men into sending him information and pictures of himself, which he then posted on his own webpage mocking them in what he called an experiment.
  19. I'm pretty sure all three of those are Disney movies. I think I'd throw Pirate of The Carribean in there are a favorite too.
  20. Alladin, but I also have a soft spot for Mulan. Damn that cricket is funny.
  21. Let me know how it goes for you! It went alright. Not my best performance, but I sparred with a guy who was my rank and also testing. I had a few kicks I wanted to get in in order to impress, and I managed to land a good spinning back kick. Heh, even the instuctor noticed I was setting it up as I had blocked a few kicks without answering and he said 'I know you're thinking something' and then said 'yup' right after I throw the kick. All in all it was a good testing.
  22. Liam would be a little out of the price range for the mini series. Originally when I tried to picture it as a movie, I had pictures Mel Gibson in the role as Eddard, because at that poitn he had a very fatherly figure to him, he sorta blew that with his break down last year. But I thought he would do god, especially if people thought he would be the star, only to have him killed. Unknown actors will fill this min series I think, but thats ok,they did great job of casting Rome, I would be fine with seeing several actors from that series into Song of Ice and Fire. I dont think any of the casting has been done yet, this show is just announced in is in its very early stages. It is expected to last 7 seasons, but if it doesnt draw in viewers and make money, I could see it being cancelled before that. The fantasy realm is not a huge money maker, I dont think.
  23. I'm sure it would be released on DVD, and I would definitely buy it as well. My only fear is that the show get cancelled halfway through.
  24. The main directors are supposed to be huge fans of the novels. George is going to have some input to he series, and will completely write/direct one episode per season. I can't wait, though it will likely be a few years.
