  1. Ahhhh great thanks AT. Thats quite reasonable for a martial arts dvd, usually they can range up to £30
  2. That was really good. She was very flexible and dynamic, i think i would have collapsed with exhaustion after the first minute lol
  3. Welcome to the forums!
  4. Haha you will, especially if your hooked on the forums like all of us!
  5. I forgot to put that in, yes he did do heian sandan. He was put up with the yellow and red belts because there was only one of each of them and lots of greens. He probs wouldn't have had to have done them kata's if it was just his grade at one time.
  6. Yeah thats very true bearich when you come to think about it. Shotokan is practised slightly different in different dojo's, even sometimes on the video's in kata it can be different.
  7. I do see where your coming from. But we also learn karate, but not to go out using it on people lol. I'm lucky to have never been in a real fight to have the need to use it...until then i will have to wait and see. You should see it that way too, i'm sure all these millions of people in the world wouldn't take karate if it wasn't effective. At the end of the day most of these people train in karate for self-defence.
  8. Yay me like takedowns too. I also like mea-geri, mawashi-geri (same leg), uraken gyaku-tsuki
  9. Hey people Just wanted your thought on this. Is training in different styles of karate worthwhile? I have always been interested in different syles of karate but never wanted to do anything other than shotokan so i don't get them confused. I know some are very similar like shukokai and shotokan. So i am thinking of looking around for Aikido clubs, but what do you guys think of training in different styles of karate? Kez x
  10. Will do Brian!
  11. I'm a complete ebay freak! At the moment i'm selling loads of collectors Doctor who trading cards and i'm buying them to, to complete my collection. I'm never off ebay, well actually thats a lie, the only times when i'm not on ebay is when i'm on here lol
  12. Yeah i went on ledgend they look great. Couldn't seem to find a price though, but there is a number you can ring. Cheers guys
  13. Love and hugs from me..so sorry to hear about your loss.
  14. I did double grade when i had a short time in shukokai. I had always dont shotokan but gave shukokai a try, i skipped from white belt to yellow. Still...i decided to stick to what i was better at and went back to shotokan. Like others have said, if you are good enough and show it, there is no reason why you shouldn't double grade.
  15. No Brian...no chance for me there!
  16. I don't want to be 30
  17. Hehe yeah he's my boy. He's very excited. When he got home from the grading evening at 10pm he was like 'mum show me heian Godan'
  18. My signature says it all! I would definatly try my best to walk away from any kind of trouble, unless harm was going to come of my sons or other family. I am lucky to never have been in that kind of situation before. I was actully disscussing this with my sensei a few weeks back. I asked him what would happen to me if i used my karate in a situation and seriously or even just midly hurt someone. He said that i could still be charged with GBH weather it was self defence or not, basically because being a martial artist then i should have some amount of controll.
  19. Welcome there! I'm affraid i can't help either, have you tried the good ole google?
  20. Great idea there from Brian, i would defo give that a try!
  21. wow that was awesome, where can i buy that?
  22. YAY 1000 POSTS! Does this mean that i'm an internet junkie, or a KF junkie? Well guys i have made 100o posts but i haven't been on here very long, i think it must be the addiction to post. Just a quick note to say that all you guys are awesome! This site is so supportive, informative and you can always have a laugh if your feeling down, no wonder it's so popular...so thumbs up to you Patrick.
