  1. yeah thats very true i guess i'll go soon enough! Cheers x
  2. Hello there, welcome to the forums. There's not much else to say really, the others have said it all. Best bet is to go check out the classes a few times, speak with the sensei's and then decide which suits you best. Good luck.
  3. Oh well thats good then Brian
  4. Hello there and welcome to the forums!
  5. Thank you shukokai
  6. Yeah i know i should, it's just that it's not a regular thing, its just when it does happen it frightens me. I just don't want to be seen to be wasting the doctors time if it is 'just anxiety'
  7. Wow that sounds harsh So let me ask you something. What if you had a serious accident, or needed an op, if you don't have health insurance do you not get the treatment?
  8. I dont really follow the fashion trend. I do like timberland or rockport for shoes and nike or reebok for trainers but anything that looks good really
  9. Yeah Brandon i'm with you there, people who demand respect just because of who they are or what rank they are don't really deserve the respect!
  10. Yeah in the uk i think we pay very high taxes, but we do get national health so we don't pay anything for medical. I have always wondered about this for Americans on how they cope, espcially if they have children who need urgent medical attention. I'm glad that we have free health for my kids sake. Do you not have state funded hospitals?
  11. bless Ross My lads started their advent calanders yesterday. Ethan is only 2 and a half so he didnt understand when he could only have one chocolate from it. He kids rolling the chair up to try and get the calander off the wall. One day i'll walk in the room and find it ripped to pieces and Ethan covered in choccie.
  12. I know Brian it's just pure habbit, and when i block kicks my forearms get bashed and bruised when i block with a fist. When we do our basic kumite step sparring we always block kicks with open hands. I'm in pain this morning i can barely move it. I have it taped up again! GGGrrrr i'm so annoyed now and frustrated.
  13. Awww P.A.L if you get eaten or something we will know why No seriously don't hurt them they have probs found a nice place for them to stay, find out what they are first
  14. Hmmm yeah Cathal you have basically said what i was thinking, just couldnt think of how to word it. I had recently started a thread on having my sensei's name on my bb out of shear respect and honour, which is great because i think that if it wasn't for him i wouldn't be where i am. And Brandon you are totally right there, 100% see where your coming from.
  15. I don't believe this i have done it again The exact same finger on the same hand. It has swelled like a balloon and this time i felt like crying My guess is that it hadn't completely healed from the first time, it's agony, and this time i had to sit from the rest of the class
  16. Thanks guys
  17. Yeah something really really boring might be a good thing to try!
  18. I suffer with palpatations, sometimes my heart beats so fast it's scary. It's often brought on my nothing, i could be relaxing watching tv or in a nice hot bath...then wham, rapid heartbeat. The only thing i can do is not panic, lie down and take deep breaths until it passes. I also suffer with a fluttery heartbeat and it often feels like it skips a beat. I'm not overly concerned by it, i do have anxiety and have been putting it down to that, just that sometimes i don't understand how it can be caused by anxiety when im often completely relaxed when this happens. I would rather not go see my gp because of the fact this is what he will tell, your having a panic attack and then i feel like i have wasted his prescious time. I once read in a book that this is a common complaint in young athletic people, is this true? Can anyone shed any light on what is happening or is it purely my daft mind and anxiety Kez
  19. Yeah it's like i know i what i'm trying to say but having trouble trying to word it Respect is a huge thing and it takes a lot for someone to earn it, erm i have respect for my sensei and i look up to him but how far can you go with respect. Can someone who expects respect take the privalige to far? I dunno i know what i mean lol
  20. Yeah maybe Brandon is right
  21. I really like the idea of nature sounds, i can imagine they can be very relaxing. The relaxation tapes are good but i find it to hard to switch off sometimes. It was 4.30am before i finally got to sleep and now my eyes feel like they have grit or sand in them lol. Reading is good to, and normally it does work for me, just for some reason last night it didn't help very much. I know whats bothering me though. Ryan is going on a cruise on monday and this weekend is my last time with him for two weeks. He's going to barbados, st lucia ect and i'm going to miss him like mad. He hasn't been away from me for more than a weekend. Cheers guys i'm glad i'm not the only one that experiences this, man it's annoying. It annoys me also when you finally get to sleep and you just have very vivid or scary dreams GGrrr lol. Funny you should say that Brian my step-dad used to work nights and he used to hate sleeping in the day, and i hated it to cos we all had to be as quiet as mice lol
  22. Hey guys. It's 2.17am and i had been in bed since 11.30pm, i was getting so frustrated with it i got up. My mother always suggests getting up and doing something if you can't sleep then going back to bed to try again. So i decided to come on here for half hour or so. This seems to happen a lot, i don't think i'm a major insomnia sufferer or anything but i do have at least two or three nights in the week where it takes me ages to sleep. And another problem i have now is that i am so hungary my belly is rumbling I don't particulary want to cook at 2.30 in the morning. I have to be up at 8.00am to get Ryan ready for school, i know i will have to have matchsticks in my eyes to keep them open and they'll be all itchy and sore, then i can't have a nap in the day time cos i have my youngest, then i have karate in the evening. So there's my little moan over with So what do you guys do when you can't sleep? I'm totally against sleeping pills because i hear a lot of people can get addicted to them. Any hints or tips on what i can do to help me go to sleep? I try not to think to much in bed, but thats difficult when you have been mad busy with the kids all day and not had a moments peace, so it's obvious your going to think more when your in bed and all is quiet. kez x
  23. Good luck with that hun, fingers crossed for you, but i'm sure you'll do great!
