  7. yay well done, congrats to you! x
  8. See thats the problem i had kkennedy, not the fact that we had some kids pass their dan grading that wasnt my issue. My issue was that when i took mine i put in 110% i worked so hard i thought i was going to faint on a few occasions. I'm just thinking that these people didnt do that and i thought the standard may have dropped, i was just a little dissapointed. I'm hoping that the people who did pass realise what they have actually gained!
  9. I have always liked this style but never had any experience with it. When i first saw it at a display a few years back i thought it looked a bit like dancing. I couldn't do this i don't think, im not that flexible
  10. I'm with you here. The run up to my dan grading was like this, i kept forgetting moves in the beginner kata's I know what you mean about non-martial artists not understanding, they listen but dont take it in lol But we do all have 'off' days. It happened to me last wednesday, i just didnt want to fight but i had to fight this big guy same grade but better than me, and i kinda just took the beating Sensei asked what the problem was i just wasnt in the mood!
  11. It's not off at all when they can't do what is expected of them, i mean come on we are talking about a black belt, it's not something that should be taken leniently. Yes there is a little leniency with the younger ones but. Also the grading only took around 30 minutes! I mean this could be due to having a normal lesson in the morning, then an hours course before the grading. Yes setboy 10 year olds, there is nothing wrong with that, they will be shodan for a few years now before they can go any further,.
  12. Nice one! I have never snow boarded in my life......well we never get snow..over here its slush lol
  13. Hey guys this is just my usual moan. Just recently our club held a dan grading. I wasn't grading this time but i watched. Four people took part. Two kids under the age of 10, an 80yr man (which i mentioned in another post) and a 14 year old lad. The thing is i thought the grading was too easy. They all passed but i remember taking mine and it wasnt half that easy, and it took so much longer too. I was sitting there thinking 'man i could take my dan grading again at this rate!' I'm not dissing my club or sensei's i just think it had dropped a little, standard wise. One of the people's basics were dreadful, his arms were all over the place when doing combinations and never bringing his fists back to his hips ect...im sorry but if your taking your black belt this should be the stage when that becomes natural! i just feel like they should have been worked much harder (except the 80yr old) i thought it was way too easy. Just my two cents!
  14. Hey i'm glad to hear he is bearing up with it! Sometimes they do just need a confidence boost. My ten year old reached purple belt and then gave it up, i was a bit upset but i had to go with what he wanted. Sounds like your club and sensei really look out for the kids and have a good system going which is really cool!
  15. You sound fit enough to me! But if your really worried just go see your gp for a check-up.
  16. Yeah thats what i thought! Anyway i just cant wait to see what the blu ray is like. Please someone dont tell me i need an extra lead or buy an upgrade to watch the blu ray lol
  17. Oh wow Dete you will have me in tears that is so sweet
  18. I would have liked to buy him a Wiii but i couldnt find one, everywhere had sold out, same with the xbox 360. The Wii does look like good family fun but we have always been for sony. My son has a nintendo ds and its a very good console.
  19. Thanks for that info guys. I will just have to keep the ps2 and games. I am thinking that the main reason i made a mistake is because the games are sooooo expensive. My son wants the new simpsons game but the cheapest i have seen it is £35, the dearest is £45!!!!
  20. Oh Hello lol welcome.
  21. Hey there! Welcome to the forums!
  22. Hi everyone. Does anyone know anything about this games console. I have been a little silly and gone and bought one for my son for christmas without really knowing anything about it. I know its a 40gb console, im still waiting for it to be delivered. Can we play our PS2 games on it?
