  1. Hmm this debat could go on forever but I think what everyone is trying to say is that not one thing is best, if you have great strength, balance, flexibility and technique then you have it sorted, if you lack in one area try a bit harder in that area. Me im not as flexible as I want to be so im working on that.
  2. I have worked out a little (i.e started in the past two months). IMHO you gain more precision with free weights, however the multi-gym is easier to set up and use.
  3. I have found that I now cannot run any more. I used to run alot when I was younger but unfortunately started to run on tarmac. This has killed my legs more than anything. My dad once knew a guy that ran alot went to the doctors complaning of back pain and was told to bin them or he would become paralysed. I know this is a one in a million thing but running is nearly as bad for you as it is good for you. What surface do you run on?
  4. Cheers guys, I will let you know how its going just need someone to sit on my legs for the hypers.
  5. Unfortunately a tape cannot tell you to raise or lower your punch it or your block that moves slightly to far.
  6. I just wondered if anyone went to Seni at the N.E.C over the weekend? I went on Sunday for the first time and it was really good. Oh if you don't know what Seni is, its a martial arts show all kinds of MA.
  7. Wow thats SO quick glad they did the slow mo after.
  8. i've found a few good body building sites that have videos and descriptions of how to do it. All you need to do is type into google the part of the body or go http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.htm and click on the muscle i want to work on. This site has everything, from workouts for teenages to over 40's. Some of the stuff is for workouts at the gym but can be applied to home as well. Please make sure that you warm up properly first though.
  9. thanks, i was quite proud of that, normally im a bit slow and think of the comeback about a week later.
  10. I didn't want to make you blush by saying you.
  11. It would have to be........ well anyone really, everyone seems nice. But as i'd love to learn Muay Thai it would have to be someone that could teach me (so lots of patients needed).
  12. im still new to this exercise stuff so im keeping it low at the moment. 2 sets of 15 crunches, 2 sets of 15 twisting crunches and 2 sets of normal sit ups. Going to start moving up to doing weighted ones. Unfortunately the hypers are hard to do as I work out at home and don't have a hyper bench. Thanks for the help guys.
  13. Alright Furious5k I'm trying to gain muscle so not really lose weight just cut the fat out. There are LOADS of websites offering advice, my best advice is to write down everything you eat and the calories next to it. This does take time but you soon realise how much ovevr your allowed calories you are. I always take the maximum value for the food calories and the minimum amount for the allowed calories. Here is a link to my calories (sin list) http://www.vacanomusic.com/Test/Calories.xls . I have been trying this and doing exercise for about 2 months and had my mum(who is really critical about my weight) say that im looking better. The main thing is to not eat alot, and try and eat 5 smaller meals a day and MAKE SURE you eat breakfast. EDIT: FORGOT LINK

  15. When you practice stretching on the back of your chair at work. You stand talking to someone and practice your stances. When doing the hoovering you move the furniture by kicking it over.
  16. wow thanks guys, lots to take in. I only do good mornings with very low weights (i read the bit about Bruce Lee and his back). It seems to start hurting after about 8 press ups, my stomach starts to tighten then i get a twinge in my back and i have to stop.
  17. Thanks for the help I do good mornings but didn't think about reverse situps.
  18. I completed my green belt grading on Sunday and am feeling the effects today. However I noticed while doing the grading and especially the press ups that my back was starting to give way and starting to ache. Are there any specific exercises I can do to improve the strength in my lower back?
  19. Wow, sorry to be stupid but how do you do that, do you just kick the tree or hit it with your shins (blood sport movie).
  20. Easiest way is to kick someones knee, I was told that it takes something (please correct if im wrong) like 55lbs pressuse to break a knee and the average 18 year old can kick something like...... ok I've forgotten the exact figure but its over double that.
