  1. Everybody has there opinions and sometimes your body needs a little help. Also creatine is created in your body anyway and protein is needed to build muscle mass, a long way from steriods (but thats a totally different story)

  4. Personally I have never sparred but I can say this from a beginners point of view. I would be scared to hit someone without pads on. Im not mike tyson but if I hurt or injured someone I think I would stuggle to spar again.

    Mine has nothing to do with my MA, I support stupid people that shouldn't be allowed near anything technical (and thats the good users). I'd love to work in a gym as a fitness instructor. I'd like to help people look and feel great, unfortunately I have no training and can't afford the pay cut. Plus I have a cool boss and a great company to work for.
  6. I've started to bulk up, not really for my MA but just to look good and feel good about myself. I heard that Protein and creatine are the way to go so I put my order in. Although the problem i've found is that its the same as eating egg's or beans (you get my meaning) anyone else had this problem and have you found a cure?

  8. take it from a man that knows, it happens to the best of us. In my youth and when I was free and single (which was about 9 years ago). It is the hardest thing to ask a girl to dance, even worse for me as I can't dance. If you don't ask then someone else will the worst thing she can say is no. Then just ask someone else. Girls (I think) find it cute that your nervous however they don't want to be the only one standing on the side without a partner.
  9. Well i've just had a week of feeling really bad, think I got to the burnt out stage with lack of sleep and a bit of a cold as well. I still managed to go swimming on Monday and to the gym yesterday, think I'll take it slow and make sure I get plenty of sleep.
  10. Thanks Sohan, im feeling a bit under the weather and lots of people have been thinking its to do with my training, me i just think its something going round. The only thing that doesn't help towards my goal is the swimming but I do that with my partner so i'm happy to keep that up.
  11. Hi Guys I have just really started to get fit. But I was wondering if I am doing to much to start with. My average week is swimming on monday, gym on tuesday, karate wednesday, gym on thursday, rest friday, gym saturday and depending on the weather on sunday either rest or a bike ride. Is this to much to start with or should i just stick it out. Regards Orion
  12. Yeah im a blue belt, about half way through now. I'm hoping to start it soon, we have a competition coming up soon which I hope to join in with.
  13. Wow, lots of great posts. I never thought that me trying to rush ahead waas undermining my Sensei. Elbows, I would love to concentrate on my sparring but at blue belt level we don't do it. Thanks everyone you have made me look at things differently. I'll perfect my kata before looking towards the next one.

Jaymac, I'm not bothered about my next rank, my next grading is on the 22nd October and sometimes I feel that I shouldn't be that high. It's just a bit annoying about having to do things slowly, I suppose I felt that he didn't think I was good enough (which im probably not). I'll keep at it and always remember your saying 'Practice does not make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.'
  17. Well, im not sure I should admit to seeing this but, my reasoning was cause I fancy the pants off Holly Valance. Its not really a MA film but theres fighting in it, and holly valance. Not a film to watch with the missus though. If you take out the fighting and take out the bikini scene your left with....................................... the credits. We went along knowing it was going to be poor and suprisingly found ourselves laughing at the badness but that made it a good film.
  18. A bartender is sitting behind the bar on a typical day, when the door bursts open and in come four exuberant blondes. They step up to the bar, order five bottles of champagne and ten glasses, take their order over and sit down at a large table. The corks are popped, the glasses are filled and they begin toasting and chanting, "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" Soon, three more blondes arrive, take up their drinks and the chanting grows. "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" Two more blondes show up and soon their voices are joined in raising the roof. "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" Finally, the tenth blonde comes in with a picture under her arm. She walks over to the table, sets the picture in the middle and the table erupts. Up jumps the others, they begin dancing around the table, exchanging high-fives, all the while chanting "51 days, 51 days, 51 days!" The bartender can't contain his curiosity any longer, so he walks over to the table. There in the center is a beautifully framed children's jigsaw puzzle. When the frenzy dies down a little bit, the bartender asks one of the blondes, "What's all the chanting and celebration about?" The blonde who brought in the picture explains, "Everyone thinks that blondes are dumb and they make fun of us. So, we decided to set the record straight. Ten of us got together, bought that puzzle and put it together. "The side of the box said 2 to 4 years, but we put it together in 51 days!"
  19. The 'blue belt blues' lol I like that. Cheers for the replies. I know that I am far from perfect from the kata, but while we are having to do the kata to count you have to do the moves when the sensei says so you do not really have the full concentration. Also you have people who are just starting to learn the kata. I don't know I think I might be getting bored overall. I'll just grin and bear it. Thanks again
  20. Hi All I am currently working towards my Purple belt (grading at the end of the month), however im starting to get bored/annoyed in class. Its not with any of the students but its with the fact that I know my grading kata (I'm far from perfect but I would say I know it to blue belt standard). I have learn't in my own time from a DVD the next kata up. However in class when it comes to kata I have to go with the rest of the blue belts and go through the kata to count (with the sensei infront showing us the moves). I don't know what to do I enjoy it, but I feel I am being held back, and I get bored and can just feel myself not trying. Last night was great until the kata section and then I just wanted to be at the gym. Has anyone else felt like this and what did you do?
  21. Well, i've never had the problem of not being hungry. I'm always hungry, which is good as im trying to pack on some weight. I used to be really skinny, then i just stopped exercising and ate so much and got fat. Now i've lost weight and am trying to gain weight properly. My fat percentage is 14.6% which is good. I am doing as Sohan suggested and eating the small meals frequently, although I have to try that weightgainer shake. Why can't you eat it anymore?
  22. Yeah the great british weather, I usually bike in the rain (no other weather here) I hate wearing a jacket and get people thinking that I should be in a white jacket. I think your ok aslong as you don't sit in a cold wet top.

  25. I only ever drink at xmas parties and after last year im thinking of stopping that. I heard somewhere that if effects your muscle growth etc for up to 72 hours. Regards Orion
