  1. Very funny. Thank you for sharing it
  2. What's the pay?
  3. In the beginning dojo it was 3 days a week for 2 hours (way back in the day) plus at home another 3 days a week for for another 2 hours or so. I was told that I needed to rest my body so I did not practice every single day. Today, the old man practices for shorter periods of time
  4. How your clothes fit is a very good indicator as one person mentioned. As you exercise mussle replaces fat and it weighs more than fat. You may notice clothes fitting better and yet your weight is the same. That's normal.
  5. No doctor here but I would think that it would depend on other factors. 6'4" 245 pounds vs 5'8" and 245 pounds there is a significant difference as to what to do. Age is also a factor. Personally, I found that once I hit 40 my metabolism slowed. At 45 is slowed again and at 50...there are times I am not sure it is working at all. My point here is I eat healthy (do a lot of juicing of various veggies in my Juiceman and I also try to eat solid foods too but I, obviously, am consuming too much. Too much of a good thing is still too much I found out. If you are really heavy (and not just a few pounds over weight) I would check with my doctor before starting any diet or nutritional schedule. (that's what all of the diet programs say and they say it for a reason). The best of luck to you.
  6. I would go to the ER immediately. What you describe (although I am not a doctor) are signs of either a heart attach or stroke. The vomitting is part of this too. Sometimes the heart attach or stroke are minor. Some people have those signs and feelings, ignore them and in a few weeks or months have another more major attach. Please see your medical professional...hopefully before you even read this.
  7. I don't think that what he said is true. I think that there needs to be sexual contact. I too would contact a doctor if you are very worried. Good luck.
  8. Very nice! I don't have any to share but I had a girlfriend many years ago that had some very artistic body art. I would have thought that as she got older it wouldn't look very good at all but I was mistaken.
  9. I love Canada. Someday I am looking to retire to Canada (BC area or western area) if they will have me. I'm not going there for rank...
  10. Brain...I can't say that. I would like to be able to but I can't
  11. Little old ladies can pull a card up off a loved one because of ADRENALINE flow. I'm not sure how this connects with sex at all. ADRENALINE cvan be increased by great levels of fear and other factors (suggesting the above incident. I am not too sure that it is safe to be able to use such a flow consistantly since it does increase strength. Someone might get hurt? I'm just thinking out loud here.
  12. I'd talk with my instructor. You said that he made you fight. Not sure what that means or why you make that comment. Regardless though perhaps he did it for a reason. Perhaps he saw something. Perhaps he expected the outcome of the match and your then confusion and difficulties afterwards. Perhaps he expected something different. Good luck.
  13. I'd kick myself for not taking Aikido or some other form of ground fighting art...I'm sure that there is a counter...
  14. I wouild talk to my instructor. They can see what you are doing and perhaps can see something obvious. The other thing is that balance problems (even minor ones) can be caused by inner ear problems. If talking to your instructor does not work have a doctor take a look....just my opinion
  15. I contact your police department or consult with someone familiar with the law....Lawyer maybe.
  16. You will never know unless you start now and try
  17. Be able to perform the required kata at an acceptable level Kumite to an acceptable level Know the basics well enough to really start learning karate
  18. IMHO many good responses. the lifetime comment I totall agree with. Yes that are all important. If they were not why have them learned at all? I am not sure what rank the starter is but perhaps there will be a better understanding later on. as for are 26 too many? They are not that long! I could see if you had 26 kata that were 250 moves long that might be a bit taxing...but, again IMHO doable
  19. IMHO In a lifetime...yes one can be expected to really learn that many kata.
  20. Sometimes you're the windshield...sometimes you're the bug
