  1. That sounds just like a little 7 year old girl I know
  2. gained more than what?
  3. Am very pleased you have found a style to suit. I sometimes wonder if I am not being adventurous enough just sticking with shukokai karate - but I do enjoy it. Like I said there arent many different styles where I am - I know thats a lame excuse but it doesnt help. Although at the moment I would give anything just to train!!
  4. What do you want from training?
  5. KarateK

    Oops!!!

And yet am having an ultra sound next week that I think is completely unneccessary. Am in no pain whatsoever and can go about day to day life with it. Yet my knee injury means cant walk up and down stairs, bend knee, get in car etc etc. Go figure!!!
  6. Hmm quite dissapointed with last nights ep "...and found" The imagery when the "others" walk past ecko and Jin was pretty poor. Quite shabby special effects from an otherwise fab programme. Funny how Jin all of a sudden started understanding what the likes of Ecko and Michael were saying. Oh well I guess it cant always be perfect
  7. Blimey - at least I can obtain this black belt while injured!!
  8. Lol you lot can share the OJ but i'm keeping the vodka
  9. We dont actually go into the grading knowing if we are going to double grade or not. It all depends on your marks and performance on the day
  10. Of course he aint as good as my daughter
  11. Hmm - see Sohan I told you it was cult related. Am still concerned over why it looks like me?
  12. Good luck then - am sure it wont be hard to find a school with more principles
  13. gimmik thats one thing you can count on - there is always someone on here who knows (or thinks they know) what you are going through!! Always support available when asked
  14. Sorry David - was too tempting
  15. My post would have read - whats with the pony smilie??? And why does it look scarily a little like me? Perhaps, like in the Da Vinci Code - I have pony blood in me? Maybe I am one of the line of descendants of the original pony girl???
  16. Was going to shout at you then if you were a smoker - lucky escape!!
  17. You? Smoke? Never would have guessed that - you health nut you
  18. Lol my daughter is 7 and KNOWS she knows everything!!!
  19. 30 a day? So you're going cold turkey now eh?
  20. Yes Sohan she does I understand what you are getting at - from personal experience though I started karate at 7. My dad actually started me going as I was getting picked on at school. They forced me to go, and when I couldnt quite get it I soon really started to hate karate. To my disadvantage I quit. Only started again about 2 years ago and absolutely love it now. My point simply being that there are better ways to give your children more self esteem than learning an MA
  21. Yes we skip grades, most common is white (9th kyu) to orange (7th kyu). Dont get it as often as you move higher up the grades, although at the last grading we had a purple belt (4th kyu) double grade to 2nd tab brown (2nd kyu). Was vvvvv unusual but he had double graded all the way through with well over the average marks. Was a black belt in shotokan and rather good i have to say. It also worked out well for me, as he double graded I got the award for highest marks in the overall grading RESULT!!!
  22. Trust you to come out with a mouthful like that!!
  23. WOW You guys can be harsh!! At 9 years old and having the pressure of having a mum in the same club is tough enough, having her be a higher grade then him is even tougher. Then to be struggling yourself with basic stances etc must be awful for the poor lad. I think that this is a problem with a lot of MA clubs. Too much pressure is put on children when they are at a time in their lives when they should be doing things for the fun of it. They have plenty of years ahead of them where they have to work for things - why can't we just let kids be kids??
