There does seem to be a pattern here, it tends to be nerves etc that are causing the probs! -

THIS DEPT OF TRANSPORT INITIATIVE HAS BEEN RE-LAUNCHED, MAY & JUNE 2006. Information Release. Due to the nature of the quality of driving in England the Department of Transport has now devised a new scheme in order to identify poor drivers and give good drivers the opportunity to recognise them whilst driving. For this reason as from the middle of May 2006 those drivers who are found to be driving badly which includes: -overtaking in dangerous places; -hovering within one inch of the car in front; -stopping sharply; -speeding in residential areas; - Generally being an * -pulling out without indication; -performing U turns inappropriately in busy highstreets; -Hogging the outside lane on motorways -taking up more than one lane in multi lane roads, These drivers will be issued with flags, white with a red cross, signifying their inability to drive properly. These flags must be clipped to a door of the car and be visible to all other drivers and pedestrians. Those drivers who have shown particularly poor driving skills will have to display a flag on each side of the car to indicate their greater lack of skill and general lower intelligence mindset to the general public. Please circulate this to as many other motorists as you can so that drivers and pedestrians will be aware of the meaning of these flags. Department of Transport.

I guess it depends on why she failed. If it was pure nerves but she performs well in class then I understand the thought behind it.

You just got to work through it, I know I am going to be in trouble when I get back training - although if you are really suffering just try to take small breaks, that helps me x -
I am going through exact same thing - have to go into hospital as I just cant deal with the dentists. Have just managed to have fillings done etc at dentist but there is no way I could sit there with them pulling and yanking. The sedation apparently is wonderful - you just dont know you are there really, most have little or no recolection of the procedure. I havent got my date yet but will have to get through this together LOL x Oh and karate will be last thing on my mind when am going through that

My worst was def my yellow belt grading. To those who dont know my back story I am a purple belt who went back through the grades after a gap in training. I felt like there was a lot expected of me, and when a few sensei said they expected me to double grade I felt awful afterwards that I didnt. Sorry to say the nerves got the better of me on the day. However I soon got over the need to please everyone and as such my marks etc have gone up. -

I cant imagine it working. Obviously as our club don't do this I find it hard to comprehend how the system works. Then again we grade differently to a lot of clubs anyway. We do have quite a high standard, granted we are not the largest club in our area and there are a lot of drop outs when it gets tough. But that only makes it more worthwhile when you get to the higher grades.
