but you don't practice against cage fighters. i think what you do and what they do are slightly different. -

maybe it's because it doesn't work. -
...but he said that he had seen it in a lot of comics and cartoons...

Ever had to use your MA in a real sreet fight
Drunken Monkey replied to a topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
nonono, you are not classed as a dangerous weapon if you are proficient in martial arts. the law just asks those who are trained to be more RESPONSIBLE in their actions. the point is, if you're attacked, you have the right to defend yourself BUT you do not have the right to beat the guy half to death. -

so why don't we see that happening in ufc/cage fights? -
i think that is a sign of a guy who didn't get out much...

Martial Arts ads are getting pathetic
Drunken Monkey replied to Tombstone's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
but isn't that a good thing? i mean, the more people who see that martial arts isn't just about fighting the better. -
no, that was a label people stuck on him. the media needs/likes labels.

well, no one understands the worshippers... as for me, i don't worship the guy, i just like a few of his/their songs.

um, well, i think what you are talknig about falls in the due care and responsibilty parts of the law. y'know, if you are trained in something that means you have an advatage against the layman, you have a responsiblity to act with care and caution and careful thought. -
what would you do in this situation...

and it helps you train your wrists, which are normally the weakest parts of your punch. like i say, it is mainly a training idea/technique. he just gave it a name people could understand (and it sounds cool). the name for it in chinese isn't really translatable and it's a bit long (short range bridge strength/energy/power) and hard to grasp.

not sure about this but i think i've seen one of the chinese schools practice their forms (slowly) forwards and then backwards. by this i mean once they have gone through their form, they then repeat the form but in reverse. then they do it again but starting with the opposite lead. can anyone tell me if i dreamed this?

isn't that along the same lines as the "register as a deadly weapon" myth...? -
well, you got to look at it all in it's context. nirvana were around when the whole world was listening to really bad pop... all of a sudden someone wrote songs that we understood, someone who said the things we wanted to.

just got back from cornwall myself. "rescued" a whole load of mussels from the beach.

i keep mentioning this one but the first police story is great... (except THAT cheesy part) i think you know what i mean.

see, that's a proper response to an honest question... i have to say that i will look into that. to be honest, i was just seeing if warp spider could actually give good answers or if he just likes to give little vague remarks. the point with anti-matter weapons is that unless they find a good, "cheap" way of producing and storing, there is no real point of making assumptions into it's use in weapons. warp spider originally mentioned anti-matter weapons in a thread. i said that you can't have anti matter weapons. he asked why you can't have anti matter weapons. i answered with what i know (and as far as i'm aware, i was quite detailed in my reasons why you can't). he then kept on giving replies with no real evidence to back them up. all it takes is for him to give me a name, like you have, so i can do some more reading. well, you can read what we have said and you can decide for yourself. but anyway, thanks for the info.

well, this isn't about whether the laws are right or wrong. the point is, you know that there exists certain laws. if you don't agree with them, do something to change them, not defy them out of pettiness. i mentioned speeding and parking because those two are probably going to cause most arguments. the point is, if you speed, you deserve the ticket and if you park illegally, you deserve the ticket.

Maybe someone with a slight amount of knowledge would believe that, but someone with a thorough understanding would realize that it's true. if you read that again, you will see that you just said anyone with a thorough understanding will realise that you are talking crap. looks like you haven't.

so now you resort to taking apart my reply as opposed to answering it and insults. and i'm still a bit confused. you've never built a tokamak but you know all about them. you've never teleported anything but you know more than guys who have... ok mr named after a warhammer product, here's a new challange. it shouldn't be too hard for a man of your intelligence. try answering the questions now...
