  1. I agree unfortunatly I think some people think if a nation does better at sport karate then their the better one.
  2. Hard, but he do have some movements that might be considered soft. I think every style has at least a small amount of soft or hard wether they be considered hard or soft overall.
  3. I dont even know what it is, however it sounds interesting...
  4. I used to think it was the ultimate also, seeing everywhere and thinking that it would actually work. I now feel being on the ground(i dont mean grappling but keeping your feet firm on the ground) is much more useful and fast and powerful. But that I guess you could say is a biased opinion since I take shotokan...
  5. I would have to go with other or Metallica
  6. Neither am I lol, I dont want to think about the consequence of getting caught with someone ready to finish the fish hook in your mouth.
  7. I agree being a striker myself(muay thai) I find it alot harder to win agaisnt the average grappler oppose to the average striker. The striker really has to know what hes doing if he wants to keep the entire fight on his feet, and lets face it on one I know can do that every match, and most fights actually do turn into grappling. But we all know it really comes down to the person,
  8. Is it really effective in a real situation? Or kinda just a sport move?
  9. lol yea, but for no more confusion I mean in the desert what would you chose.
  10. There not peacocks
  11. Nice, free training
  12. Realisticly I dont think a back flip would work in a real fight, youd prob just end up in a bad poistion or land undefended.
  13. Iam not qualified to help, but I do know that you should be very very careful when doing a backflip. I almost died doing one, it happened when I first learned to doa back flip and I got cocky and started fliping all over the place, one of the times I landed on my head and lucky no permanent damage but the skull was cracked open.
  14. lol some TKD guy tried to pull that on me, I just kicked him while he was in the air.
  15. true but would you chose one over the other?
  16. Unfortunatly the site which told me about it I cant find on my computer, but ill try to find it
  17. That was pretty crazy, I know a XMA site and it has some pretty intense tricks on it. Just type martial arts tricks on google and it should be there.
  18. Well its not proof, but scientists have a very very unproven theory called "string theory". This is supposedly smaller than an atom and such is supposedly could be a simple form of the energy of life. I cant explain it because i saw it on tv and it was talking about stuff that i couldn't follow but I got the idea. This thoery could have to do with ki as they said once certain strings of whatever it is are connected they can be manipulated, like picking up clay and EVERYTHING except for possibly anti-matter and the matter which destroys matter(man-made) is made up of this energy. It seems very possible as it does make sense however it cant be even proven because they dont even have the equipment able to do so, which will take at least another 10 years to develop. Just thought it was kinda interesting.
  19. I think ki can work in any way you want it to for yourself, using different methods may strengthen certain parts of you or your training.
  20. We just have two very strange birds and in the top center is the shotokan symbol.
  21. hello, and welcome
  22. Justified because I think the fact that he was in the store with the gun drawn, endangers the black belts life as well...I know thats in effect in some places around but depends where the store is i guess.
  23. Not even counter attack, but they do use pressure points, joint locks and anything that can hold you down. Its really annoying because they hold you down until you calm down (thats the whole point) but I just got more and more angry being held down like that and just pretty much went limp. If it was life threatining the practitioner could break a limp if he/she really had to.
  24. Speaking of practicing properly I went to a BJJ place and they were punching and kneeing the other guy for endurance training. I mean one guy is on top of the other and he beats his head into the ground...is that what they really do? Is it even legal?
