a couple of my friends and I were talkin about how we should have TKD or Karate as a class in school..i was like haha yes i could teach it! LOL!

Hey guys! last night testing went AWESOME!!!! Usually they do ranks by fours (so four people go up to test at a time) well at one point it was a row of four of my students and then there was a row of three and one other student...it was really great to see this happen! Well...after all the white belts got finished the Master that was doing the testing said ok..i want all the white belts from Steele (my school) that just tested to come out in the middle of the floor..then he was like ok now i want the two instructors from this school to come up here...well we went..and we were like um..wats going to happen? Note: he's never done this before..lol! then he was like this is your new school here in the divison right? and everyone said yes sir...he's like wow this is an awesome start..look at all these white belts! then he said you guys did an EXCELLENT job! then he said...you guys have some very good leaders right here, and you listen to what they have to say, and one more thing you guys all passed...they were VERY excited! i was too..i couldnt wipe the smile off of my face!

Well this story has to do with the importance of KIAI... Well there was this woman and she had taken one women's self defense class..well after the self defense class one night she had to go buy some grocerys well she was walking out of the grocery store and a guy walked up to her with a knife and said "GIVE ME YOUR MONEY" and she said the only thing that she could remember from the self defense class was step into fighting stance and yell kiai..well she did and he ran away...LUV THAT STORY!

Martial Arts has def changed my life for the better also...i used to be a really shy..non caring...close minded..and w/o manners till i joined MA..now..its i cant stop talking and im not scared to talk to anyone or anything...and i care about everything..and i see things from a different perspective and...now i have MAJOR manners...i dunno where i'd be w/o MA!

Welp..i carry my uniform..sparring gear...some weapons that fit in my bag...a nunchaku book that i got at a seminar..some band aids...a martial arts book...and some phone numbers of ma folks that i might need to call..lol thats what i carry w/ me

Eyes..the best place..u can read a person through their eyes and play mind tricks on them

Hey guys! I have been teaching for around 2 months now (started Aug 2nd) and now this Friday (Oct 21) I have my first set of white belts testing for yellow belt...there are 10 of them! I'm so proud of them...it's a great feeling..my first white belts ever are testing...I'm excited right now!

Yeah i think that is a good idea....i like heavy bags much better than wave masters

My instructor also likes to say "BEND YOUR KNEES" and "LOUD KIAI"

Never tell ur instructorS (two of them): I can take you both on at the same time! An in experienced white belt said this to me and the other instructor that helps me

They told us it will be another month before we get them..so im gonna be waiting! which is good that it is going to be in a month b/c my b day is in a month!

my instructor suggested me to take half the time i do physical training at home and meditate..so that's what i do

HAHA! That sounds like something I would say..LOL!! I have another story! One night in kids class one of my instructors was getting on to the kids b/c they wouldnt stop goofing off and talking out of turn and things, well he got into the third sentence and one of the kids was like "Mr. you know you have fangs like a vampire..HERE AND HERE" and the kid opened his mouth and showed him....the instructor told us it was SO HARD not to laugh! when he told us..i laughed for a good 5 minutes! LOL!

Yeah....i see kids at tournaments and testings with ALL KINDS of patches...oh it bothers me...but organzation patches that's ok...that's what all of us have on our gis in our organization and it gives a sense of unity kinda thing...we also have an embroidered Han's logo on our gi's

PRACTICE kicking and punching faster...so doing kicks in class...KICK FASTER act like the count is an attack. Punching..pull the hand you just punched with, faster, also same if you guys do your punching to counts...same thing as kicking..and proper breathing control helps also

Yes one of our schools has one of those and they move really bad with water even filled all the way..so yeah i would try sand..GOOD LUCK!

Man Laurie....WE ARE SO MUCH ALIKE! gaw it's SCARY!!! I was to scared to post it really...but lately I havent been movtivated to go...but it's starting to pick back up again with testing coming around and things...and my students testing their first test next Friday..and it's got me excited about it, and a tournament a 2 weeks from now...somedays i have to force myself to go and somedays i wanna go...and the other day one of the instructors suggested i test for brown belt next week which is two months early...im really supposed to test in December..so thats got me stressed

Well said Mike!! I've seen so many relationships in MA that work out! There was this girl I used to train (I say used to b/c she doesnt train anymore) with that actually started dating my instructor two days after they met, and married like 5 months later and now they have a baby that is two weeks old! and my other instructor is getting married to girl in MA. if you guys really like each other u know...it'd be a really nice thing to date a girl/guy in MA that u are in..u guys can train together outside of class!

yep ask ur instructor the patch to the left here in my avatar is had a guy in a gi white gi top black pants (opposites) doing the youn wha motion he is standing on smooth surface with mountains in the back (opposites) and then it is night time and the yellow circle is actually the sun (..again opposites) i thought that was pretty interesting!
