  1. I tried to get North American results, but it gave me an error messsage.
  2. About eight years, but I haven't taken lessons for a couple years. Plus my cello needs some major repairs. There's a huge crack down the back of it, it makes me sad. It's a piece of junk cello, but I still love it. How much did you pay for yours?
  3. On a bad day I'm at 1-2, but usually I'm at 45 minutes. I'm only taking 2 courses right now though per semester. Ah, the lazy life...
  4. All the nutritional guides that say you need 2-3 servings of dairy products a day are sponsored by milk producers... suspicious? I think so!
  5. I found this website, which was attached to the Kyokushin Canada website that says who is in charge of what group. http://www.kyokushincanada.com/dojolocator.htm
  6. I thought Steve Arneil was training in Surrey, I'm sure he's quite a distance from you though. Makiwaraman said something about training with him in Guildford, Surrey though.
  7. French horn takes over your life if you're any good. I play cello and piano.
  8. Whoa, I'm confused... what are you doing with the coke bottles and rolling pins?
  9. 25 Canadian dollars a month. Dirt cheap.
  10. If they throw two (right, left) punches I block them both and hit them on the shoulder with my left hand. It works on a surprising amount of people.
  11. Oh yeah, that sounds right, I got confused.
  12. That's a pretty lame thing to do. I would love to still have a nice looking belt after a decade of wearing it, but I don't think that'd happen. I guess your dojo doesn't have age requirements for testing, too bad.
  13. We do self defense once a week usually. We do mostly hand grabs from the front, but also do choke holds, lapel grabs, rear hand grabs and sleeve grabs.
  14. All kata is good kata. We get gekisai sho and dai from shotokan do we not?
  15. My Sensei is dedicated to say the least. It is good advice to train that way, but a tough way to train. I think I'm making people more confused...
  16. Good luck with that. I hope you find many quality students.
  17. I enjoyed summer camp a lot. It was hard work, but they didn't go over the top with it. I really enjoyed all the classes I took. I liked doing kata with Sensei Brad. We did pinan sono ni very, very slowly, but it made me realize I was doing some weird things with my feet at the very beginning. It was a disappointment that Sensei Tats could not do his thirty man kumite. I was looking forward to seeing his kicks in action. Will he try to do his fights next year? When will you start training again? I have heard that Sempai Matt will be starting training again in a few weeks time, but do you know what nights he will be training? I hope your ribs are only bruised and that you recover from any other aches and pains quickly. OSU
  18. I always thought that Denver-ites were slackers, I am now proven wrong.
  19. Interesting as kyokushin comes from goju-ryu and shotokan. Now I really want to know what type of karate you are doing...
  20. Kyokushin. It's a very hard martial art. You'll learn self-defense, kata and do kumite and be able to participate in tournaments.
  21. Kicks. I can never get near enough to people I'm sparring to punch them.
  22. You should check out the chinese martial arts section if you are looking for another student of kung fu.
  23. And yet you're a smallman...
  24. Congratulations! Have you done martial arts before this?
