  1. isn't bagua a completly different style?
  2. You know your history. Also something else, they used a lot of high kicks and wide movements because there was more space to do that. While the South was more cramped, therefore they made their styles more close quarters.
  3. I thought you were some 30 something martial arts veteran, you sure know your stuff,I'm only a few months older than you.
  4. do Tai Chi/Taiji people spar and why is it so slow when you practice?
  5. "wat good about a strong punch if its slow and you can only do it once" I totally agree.I personally like to put a heavy back pack to add resistance
  6. hard as in hard to learn or hard as a hard style that is external?
  7. there should be,if there isn't they probably go to open tournaments.
  8. what about Hapkido? If you can find a Dojang that does full contact. It's a great style and I'm sure they have their own tournament scene.
  9. but the style is a big factor sometimes
  10. I see, becuase sometimes in movies I hear about the Japanes taking over China, and I've also read it elsewhere about Taiwan.
  11. by short bridge do you mean close quarters? And yeah I know the general audience wants to see very flashy techniques like spinning jump hook kicks and what not.
  12. "I could go on, but i'm hungry." I just had dinner he he
  13. and part 2 is going to be in Florida supposedly so hopefully that means lot's of ladies he he
  14. (when I can legally drive) how old are u?
  15. i loved it,the second one supposedly comes out next month
  16. also another good cheesy movie would be "prodigal son" it's about wing chun
  17. weights are good ,but push ups are better for endurance. And there so many variations that can shift the focus of what muscles are worked primarily.
  18. All I can say is warm up first, because if your tense you won't be as flexible. Also I've noticed this on me,in the mornings,if I strecth I can be kind of stiff, but if I do it at night I can go all the way down.I guess that it's because by the end of the day my muscle have been relaxed and warmed up.
  19. I think it's great. My Sensei was just telling me yesterday that if I keep coming to the adult classes I could progress better being that only a few people show up for that class. He said theres more time for him to see my technique and to correct it.Also in this class where I usally learn joint locks. I guess the only bad thing would be sparring days, because if there isn't anybody about your size and experience then theres not much you can do.
  20. sure, no problem
  21. so that wasn't WC done in this film?I knew there had to be some movie fu , but I didn't know to what degree.Being that I've heard that old school movies had a better portayal of martial arts because they didn't have as much to work with back then.
