  1. I pretty much have your aproach too. I like my art as it is, but I do add more to my arsenal.
  2. that would explain the kenpo logo in the dojo when I saw "enter the dragon."
  3. that would explain the kenpo logo in the dojo when I saw "enter the dragon."
  4. so how do "big" people do this form? I imagine it's kind of difficult for a heavy person.
  5. lol, I won't ask u that one, but I will ask why there is a cartwheel in a form?
  6. that's real good advice homie. Your body will let u know more than any workout magazine.
  7. ohhhhhhhhhhhhh ok,I understand now
  8. this is why i like this site. People here actually know wut theyre talking about for the most part.
  9. speaking of forms, i saw a clip of your styles forms the other day. I have to say , I saw the influnces, but i also saw some things that were just not normal for me. At one point in the form, the guy did a cart wheel. that was a first for me.
  10. I imagine it's ok to work your core everyday. I don't see why not
  11. In what especific the you have chinese influence? In stances, Forms, Uniforms, Circular movements...??? stances, forms, circular movements, kicks, punches, blocks, etc
  12. I believe Goju Karate comes from southern white crain of china.Alot of the movements are similar. yep, that and i belive some chinese kempo. Then it got blended with Okinawan arts.
  13. yep, lifting everyday maeks you become overtrained fast. Also when u rest, is when youre muscles grow and recover. if u want good training regimens, look in fitness mags, but stay away from those with ppl in it looking like they on steroids. The one I like the best is mens fitness mag
  14. u can do all of that. have the same regimen in weights , cardio, etc for about 3-4 months then change it up. This way u will keep exceling and advance. as for the order, do weights before cardio or on separate days. Also get at least 2 days for just resting. especially with lifting, lift every other day, like 4 times a week.
  15. that's the samrtest comment i've read in a while.
  16. I do some of it in my karate as we have chinese influence in our art.
  17. b/c karate is an emtpy hand style. Also Karate means empty hand/ way of the chinese hand.
  18. i guess I'm too young b/c I just can't see myself training with the music u guys listen to
  19. those katas are all goju katas, showing that naha-te is goju ryu
  20. yeah, my classes are at the time I work too, but hopefully my schedule will be tweaked around so I can go all days I have class. I've found other schools that have lunch time classes, but I wanna get a good grip of things in my base art first.
  21. isn't naha-te just another name for goju-ryu?
  22. theres also no worst style, just styles that do worse than others in certain areas.Karate and Kung-fu both can work in real fights, but without all the flashy movie crap. Also bjj is fighting and very effective also, but not if youre up againts more than one person at a time. Real fighting is more than just punching and kicking.Fighting can be in all ranges of combat (including grappling).Kung fu guys are fast, but if they don't know grappling against someone that does, they will get beat. As for the so called deat touch, it's a controversial subject. However Kung-Fu and lot's more other arts have pressure point attacks to help u win.
