  1. We don't chamber round kicks in Muay Thai. Just bang 'em fast and hard into your target with a chopping shin. Ouch.
  2. Athena, check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeet_Kune_Do

  4. Zapatista, what are the striking arts offered around you? If you can take Muay Thai or western kickboxing, I'd recommend you start there. KB will be a fine complement to your BJJ or submission grappling.
  5. Great point, I agree. You are under no obligation to pay return for postage for something you didn't order. If there remains a dispute, cancel the transaction with your credit card company. Then send back the pants and DVD, and shop elsewhere.
  6. Maybe you can offer a trade - train him in some things you know, that he doesn't.
  7. Like high-percentage passes that just keep moving the chains, baby!
  8. Oh yeah, cash in for Nate. And what about Plummer threatening to retire if he gets sent to Tampa? I think he should end it with Gary Kubiak in Houston. Maybe this is his way of trying to drive that scenario. Also, trash talkers are starting to get their walking papers. I think coaches are tired of the media attention and lack of team play. Joey Porter got released by Pittsburgh. Jeramy Stevens may get sacked by Seattle. We'll see what happens to TO, though his talking issue is a bit different. Thank God, I really think the league is finally cutting down on thug behavior, off-field buffoonery, and non-team play. You may see more "me first" guys getting released. Despite a quiet guy like Art Monk not getting into the HOF over mouthy Micheal Irvin, how do you not hold up a guy like LT as an example of how to do it right in today's game?
  9. Exactly - proportional response.
  10. Man, that guy gets around! He's a movie star, too - usually sitting at the bar, waiting. The fight's about to start, cue Haymaker Harry. Good one, NightOwl.
  11. Yeah it does. I guess you'll have to keep training on your own? Or is there a boxing gym you can go to periodically that's farther away? Congrats on MOM, by the way - well deserved!
  12. Welcome to KF! My daughter is into anime and Asian arts as well. I recognize your emoticons because she uses them, too. You own style sounds sort of like Jeet Kune Do.
  13. Welcome to KF, MA is a great life.
  14. Great place to be, opinions are welcome!

  19. Welcome! You will like it here.
  20. Wow. Your picture might be next to the word "serendipity" in the dictionary. Let us know how it works out.
  21. Yeah baby! I am now reading Sam Sheridan's new book, A Fighter's Heart. He confirms it - Muay Thai is a young person's sport. Don't I know it! But I like it. Now I'm just trying to find my happy place. PS - Congrats on the digital blue belt and cool new avatar.
