Does any one take JKD grappling ??
1kickKO replied to Rank7's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
Not nearly...the best grappling around is the one that focuses solely on that...grappling. Jujitsu I believe would be the best style for ground0fighting, because that's what it focuses on. -

Most grappling out there is great grappling, there isn't really any "best" grappling, every grappling school has their pros and cons....but tuh answer your question, I just train in traditional jujitsu. -
I'm afraid to die...

Actually it will be very weird at first, because TKD focuses on mainly kicking techniques. Ninjitsu is a very different art within itself, featuring a few throws, locks, chokes, punches, and kicks..in my honest opinion though, I think you are right for switching, when an instructor becomes more involved in business than his art, then I do think you have every right to switch. Maybe you could take a sample class from each dojo/style until you find one you like. Many schools allow you to do this, and your gut will tell you what art you should take.

Ah I see..well I go to open tournaments which is open to all styles, and a friend of mine told me a story of one time when there was this BJJ practitioner he was about to fight who just went to his back as soon as the round started, no clinching, nothing, he went straight to his back. -

Well, each style has it's own benefits, how about you find out what styles they offer at your iniversity, tell me what they are, thent ell me what you want out of the martial arts, and I can lead you on the right track, but ultimately the choice is yours to make

Well, by easy I don't mean, physically easy to do, I just meant here's a variety of ways it can eb done and it is not impossible as some people lean towards. Nope I surely haven't done it, but the guy who taught me practices dim mak...he hasn't done it, but he has learned it and there is scientific proof as to why it can happen. How? Heck I learned it last year so don't ask me, I jsut remember where and how to do it.
