  1. las samurai is really not bad. However of all the main actors in the movie, I think only the guy that playing main supporting actor (forgot his name in the movie, the one that almost chop Tom Cruise' head off, and sparing Tom Cruise in the movie) really know the Japanese sword art. He is actually a very famouse actor in Japan. If I remeber correctly, he used to play and was famous of playing Ninja in ninja Movie.
  2. well, dont care too much about the plot. (it's too simple to even care about it) cuz this movie reallly focus on muay thai, and actions. However if you really want to know, Tony Ja's character, Ting, is from a very religous village, and their Budda's head, Ong back, got stolen. So he went to city to search for it, and he meet lots of bad guys, and fight with them to get the Budda headh back.
  3. It's not new movie. It was out since last year in Asia and Europe, and shock both places. The actor Tony Jaa, is a real deal Muay Thai guy. He used no stunt, no wires, no computer graphix. I think he is the best martial artist celebrity today. I already watch so many times, cuz I have the DVD. it's the best. I strongly recommend it. This movie will make many other martial art movie look fake.
  4. I think the old school can kick the new MMA top fighter's butt. Because, back in the day (like pre 19 century), people learn martial art to survive, and they usually have to fight with anyone (no weight class) and fight to death (no ruled, and for surviving). Not to mention, people train maritial for the whole life, every day.
  5. PICK the one that you think must suitable to you.
  6. actually, the first half of 1st season and the movies were bad from today's standard, including the drawing. However, 2nd season and 3rd/last season were pretty good, and not chessy at all.
  7. This is pull out from one of Bujinkan's history website: Hatsumi Sensei had chosen the name Bujinkan Dôjô (Divine Warrior Training Hall) for the name of his school and system. For many years this "system" of skills was referred to as Bujinkan Ninjutsu. This was based on the fact that Togakure Ryû Ninjutsu was the "original" style of martial art that, over a several hundred year period, eight ( other Ryû, or styles, were later added. Sôke (family head) Masaaki Hatsumi is the 34th Grandmaster of the Togakure Ryû. This is the main lineage of the Bujinkan, in which the eight ( other Ryû, were assimilated. This "coming together" of the nine (9) Ryû of the Bujinkan had taken several hundred years to complete.
  8. Yes, You are right. Yes, and inside the wushu school, he learned different styles of martial arts and weapon art, including western boxing. And he won the national champion by winning the sparing, not just performing the form. He said so in some of the interviews in Taiwan. In fact, He majored in wushu in university, which is a term for MAs.
  9. here you go: http://www.jinmukan.com/sword/kenjutsu.shtml
  10. Why don't you explain to him nicely in private, but be sincered. If he can't understand then I will say he is not open minded enough to be an instructor. GOOD LUCK at your Tournament.
  11. oh and alos. Nanto doesn't mean slice techniques, it acutally is techniques that destroy from the surface. Where Hukuto is destroy from the internal. In the later seasons, there will be another art is destroy from cell.
  12. well, most critics think Tony Ja surpas Jackie Chan at his prime.
  13. It's about a guy went to China to learn Chinese culture, and martial arts (he also teaches). He also learned the importance of internal power of Chinese Martial art.
  14. ONG BAK by Tony Jaa No stunt, no wires, no computer, REAL MUAY THAI (unlike Kick Boxer by Van dame) this movie makes all other martial art movies look fake and corny.
  15. Fist of North Star aka Hato no Ken. There are many, but alot of them aren't release in US.
  16. Maggie doesn't know any marital art. Zhang study, Chinese opera martial art, which is for show not for go. Jet Li is National martial art champion in China (full contacts), he also Majoring in martial art in (I think) Bejin University, China. Where he has to master 18 traditional chinese weapons besides non-weapon art.
  17. Not all the Ninjitsu die out. Bujinkan is one of Ninjitsu that get to survived till modern day.
  18. I never seen the movie, but I readed the book, it's not bad. Personally, I have a friend who has very similar experience. At first I thought, Iron Silk is a book he wrote under different name, but it's not him.
  19. Because Jet Li is Martial Art National Champion in China (full Contact Match) Jackie Chan just learn his martial art from Chinese Opera, all show now go. As for now, the best martial art celebrity in TONY JAA. He can kick evey celebrity's butt(in real confrontation, seriously). I know most of you guys probably don't know who he is, but he is famous and shocked everyone in Asia and Europe. Many critcs were saying he is next Bruce Lee, and surpassed Jackie Chan in his prime in Action sequence. Bruce already passed away, and Jet Li is old now. TONY JAA is in his 20s, and in top shape.
  20. I think you only seen few epsoide, in first season. There were 3 seasons, and there are alot more fighting styles than Nanto and Hokuto, which appeared in later season. There were also a sub-hokuto styles that didnt' appear till mid 2nd season. This one of my favor animation. The drawing on 2nd and 3dr/final season are really good compare to the first one. I am going to get all three season series next time I go to Taiwan.
  21. "Mama say knock you out". haha forgot the name and the rapper of the sound.
  22. Jackie Chan will get his axx kick definately. He learned MA from Chinese Operan for show, not real deal. Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan are in total different class. The only chance that Jackie Chan might win is.......if they fight in Home Depot. Jet Li vs Bruce Lee, now that's will be a fight to watch.
  23. I don't think Bruce Lee is under rated now, cuz most people still know who he is. The Most UNDER RATED MARTIAL ARTIST in US is: TONY JA. The lead actor of Muay Thai movie called "ONG BAK." The movie was released last year in Asia, and Europe, and he shocked everyone. Since most people here in US still don't know about him, so he is most under rated martial artist.
  24. Ninjitsu is from Japan, Kung fu is from China, you sould be able to find many info regarding these two martial arts in internet really easy. Also there are many styles in Ninjitsu and in Kunf Fu. However, many Ninjitsu art and styles were distinct. I dunno about (My Jong Lo Han) kung Fu, and never heard of DUX ryu Ninjitsu. For Ninjitsu, I would said, if it's not recognized by Bujinkan Japan, then it's lineage is questionable. USC teaches Ninjitsu????? Wow.
