  3. lol, my dorm room looks like a bomb went off in it. Oh well. I know where everything is. I have to clean it out in a month (yuk)
  4. My girlfriend and I have a tradition: The last 2 movies (Episode I and II) have come out on her birthday. I would take her to eat a nice dinner and then we would go watch the movie. I have seen the trailer for Episode III and I can't wait to take her to see it.
  5. I love to go hunting. I hunt Whitetail deer, quail, turkey, and dove. My favorite rifle is Browning .270 A-bolt with a Nikon Monarch UCC Scope 6.5-20x44 AO Black Matte Nikoplex scope mounted on it shooting a 140 grain hand loaded Nosler Balistic tip For winged fowl, (including turkey) I use my trusty 12 guage Stevens Savage side by side shotgun. I will also use an semiauto shotgun if I am going to hunt dove or quail. Be Safe and happy hunting
  6. Salute. God Bless our troops and keep them Safe. God bless the USA.
  7. I stopped drinking coffe when they invented the funnel. I love the stuff. If i could get it intravenous I would. Ok, so I'm kidding about the intravenous and funnel part. I love coffee and I especially enjoy going out with some friends for a cup of coffee and a desert, or just for a cup of coffe where we can talk about anything and everything. Ive been drinking coffe my whole life.
  8. combo of Diagonal fly then Brush Knee Twist and Strike. Or Ward off, Roll Back, Press, and Push. I like these Go Tai Chi
  9. Wow ckd-student. That is great. Keep up the good work. When I was in Junior High and High School I ran track and cross country. My event was the 2 mile and I could do it in 12 flat. (I hope to be there again someday) Keep working on it and good luck
  10. That is a good goal. Back in the day when I was running track, I could do 1.5 in 9 minutes flat. (that was 8 years and 80 lbs ago.) Right now, I probably could do it in 12 (which is extremely poor for me. I am going to work on it this summer.) Hope this helps
  11. I apologize if there is already a post on this. I was curious as to what my ideal body weight should be. Here are some brief vitals: I am 23, 6', 193 pounds. (I don't know my body fat percentage, but I could stand to lose a little flab around my lovehandles/waist) My personal goal is never to go over 200 lbs. the way I am now. I am currently working on my abdominals/ lovehandle area. (I need to get my 6 pack back before summer) Anyway, thank you for the insight and I look foward to hearing your comments. PS. back in the day I was a runner so I have pretty good legs. upper body strength is not as strong.
  12. Once the weight comes on my friend, it is hard to get off. Be mindful of that. I am 6' 190 pounds and I want to lose a few lbs. myself. Have you consulted a doctor or nutritionist about this? They might be able to help. Good luck
  13. the knee pain runs along the right side of my knee cap on my left leg. I think it is the nerve/tendon that connects something there. I am lying on my side with a straight or semistraight back. the pain is a very sharp pain that causes me to rise up out of bed. It only happens when I lie on my left side, and i has only happened 3 different times since Nov. I don't have any other specifics. I believe I hurt it while doing a Zuan Zhuang excercise (Posting) with my knee in an incorrect position. Any help will be appreciated. If it continues to bother me, I will see a doctor this summer, I just think that it is funny that it only happens very very sporatically. thanks for the help
  14. the Shaolin class that meets before my Tai Chi class at the dojo uses a palm together in front of the body posture (almost looks like praying) as they bow. they Headmaster uses the traditional open hand over close fist salute back to them. He also told us that it is school specific.
  15. As far as the Yang family Tai Chi goes, I would use play the lute as my on guard stance and depending on that techique/attack the agressor threw at me, I would act accordingly. As far as the best stance goes, I use different postues to do different techniques. I know 37 different moves with which to handle and attacker that come out of the form, but I also must ask myself, if this is a suprise attack or out of control fight, are stances going to matter? I would do whatever it took to stop the agression and get out of the situation quickly and safely.
  16. My Tai Chi Headmaster also teaches Ba Qua. He is teaching a course in it this summer. He told us in class last week that one of the Yang family practicioners fought a Ba Qua practicioner for 3 hours and they fought to a draw. He demonstrated some of the circular forms that are used and did part of the form for us. Unfortunately, he is offering the course in the summer when I will be back home. Oh well, there are my 2 cents.
  17. i don't get it either

  25. I'm hooked for life. Hopefully one day I can get to the point of mastering the content, but until that day I will take classes to learn and understand my art as best I can. Good luck to all of the Martial Artist out there in the future.
