  2. I train a lot of my friends and they are good students. I think that the main thing is to be a good example for them to follow. If you show respect for everyone, they will also learn to be respectful during training.
  3. In my opinion, all of these methods can help to condition your shins. The problem with shin conditioning is that it destroys your nerves (therefore less pain) and in effect weakens the circulation to your legs.
  4. In the seventies to the eighties, I trained in traditional martial arts including Shotokan, WadoRyu, and Taekwondo. In the nineties, I simultaneously trained in Kempo, kickboxing, and Brazilian Jujitsu. Currently I train in Kajukenbo. Do I know any of these arts? No. I'm always learning.

  11. Most of the best grapplers that I rolled with were a lot smaller than me so it's a matter of skill rather than size. If you are capable of completely dominating your opponent, take it as you are helping that person to learn!

  15. Never heard of Shinbudo but it sounds like a good combination of techniques. I wuld say try it and if you like it, give it all you got! Good luck with your training!!

  22. Any type of martial arts training IMPROVES your chances on the street but no amount of training makes you unbeatable unless you are a movie star. The most important opponent to defeat is yourself and you can learn this through martial arts. Once you learn this, you will experience the spiritual side of the arts.
