  6. I fought in a tournament where two of my opponents were from the same school as two of the judges. Even when I knocked my opponents backwards with my strikes, the two judges claimed that they never saw it. On the other hand, my opponents were scoring points with strikes that were on my arm. Oh, by the way, this tournament was put on by the same school. I never went back to any of their tournaments again.

  10. You could have worn a homemade black belt so everyone could see that you were just pretending, otherwise people might take you for a real black belt that was showing off.
  11. He'll say to himself, "since I can't beat you hand to hand, I'll get my baseball bat and hit you from behind." The element of surprise (your opponent not knowing that you have skills) is a great asset to your defense.

  16. In any tournament, you must accept that there is a possibility that you may get hurt. Most injuries that I have seen in submission type of competition were due to people's reluctance to tap out.
