  14. My teacher used to tell me that with every correction that I make on a student, I should follow it with a positive comment on something that I like about what they do.
  15. Tall people do well in the arts that do a lot of kicking because they can take advantage of their reach with their legs. Most of the Korean arts are good in this area.
  16. There are tons of this type of advertisments out there. They are normally based upon a real person, however their products are usually not up to par to what they advertise. Their descriptions are normally just good advertising. I have ordered numerous "secret, never seen before moves" tapes and dvds and have rarely seen anything that I hadn't already seen.

  21. Maybe it should and maybe it shouldn't but as it stands, it does refer to a way of fighting such as done in MMA events and that is why when people ask me what I do, I tell them that I do a mixture of martial arts rather then mixed martial arts.
  22. Today the term, MMA, normally refers to those that practice kickboxing and some form of grappling, normally Brazilian Jujitsu. I train in both of these arts and also other traditional arts. I don't think that a person that trains in karate and kung fu would be considered a mixed martial artist by the term as it is implied to today.
  23. Merry Christmas to everyone on the forum!!
