I was justsaying be wary.... i in no way meant criticism -

also - kicks the knee hurt you a helll of a lot more than kicks to the thigh..... and the thigh's a bigger target.
-
I'd like to say why styles limit people - they simply form a basis for logical reasoning based on a set of rules.... and any intelligent human being cna think outside the style..... i would say styles are limitless, its only the practitioners who limit them.

yes - but this was assuming all other things are equa other than height....

Whats the REAL deal with martial arts today?
Sam replied to The Fonz's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
antwon - again not a big MMA advocate my self.... but even TMAs need to realise that full contact [in some situations] is necessary for training.... -
What art is better for street fighting?
Sam replied to Sinar89's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
I personally believe that the statistic x% of street fights end up on the lfoor is generally wrong..... sometimes they do, sometimes they dont - the chaotic nature of street fights and the massive variation on situation and circumstance prevent any statistic relating to standing / ground work completely irrelevant and worthless.... it would be impossible to generalise. -
ok this is getting silly everything keeps getting in the way of me doing this.... can anyone who wants it please pm me and ill reply iwsth it....
-
exaclty - just that without real experience anyone is prone to having all their training go out the window! And sometimes fights are unavoidable.

Its putting lal the power in and the breathing.,... you just end up concentrating so much you tire yourself out!!

Belt Testing Today!
Sam replied to ChevyCowgirlRSG's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
I like surprise thing slike that [doesnt happen much in our organisation] but you sometimes get people hwo when they know when their gradings are, only really train for a bit before, or just relax for a while..... annoys me slightly that. -

Western(American) or Eastern(Asian) training?
Sam replied to Kajukenbopr's topic in Health and Fitness
Remember western training has the advantage of being made almost solely through science - so long as you can work out who is right and who to believe. Eastern training i would say is great, but sometimes tradition should be re worked slightly to take advantage of more efficient trianing regimes. -
Yeah - but you dont always get people hwo respect ability - they only look at age.

Lead leg fighting
Sam replied to Belasko's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
I think lead leg kicks mainly have their place for an almost defensive movement, or just sparring.... They can be applied realistically, but with practice there wont be a huge difference in speed off the back leg... but the disadvantage [as some have said i think] is that you turn your body full face during a back leg kick. The vote should really have a "i use back and front"... -
Its crazy isnt it - I always watch those sort of things and think i really need to get into gymnastics, cos i enjoy aerial stuff.
-
Full suit of body armour.... lol
