  1. I wasnt saying it was negative compaigning - just i guess our media isnt the same in the UK.... i just prefer to draw people for different reasons... Just my personal belief... not saying better or worse.
  2. wow really good post on autism.... I think like you say its about working with them and their parents.... Although as everyone else has said there has to be a point where the rest of the students position wins out...
  3. I think on the "playing field" whne its truely down to skill and not a judges interpertation its pretty impossible for racism to influence it.... if your both going at it to win as UseoForce says - the last thing on your mind is OH MY GOD HE's [iNSERT RACE HERE], IM DEFINITELY GOING TO WIN / LOSE - mostly you're concentrating on whats gonig on.
  4. I wouldnt have a policy, but i would discourage - still though people have their own minds and many MAs talk about the development of their students, adn relationships in / out of the dojang are an integral part of that development. I dont think you can blanket this one with a yes / no answer - it really depends on who you're talking about.
  5. It works well as far as covering your own * goes as well... just if he tries to punch you and you break his knee with a kick your more likely to get a way with it than attacking with several techniques - because he may say he tried to retreat... etc.. etc..
  6. Iwanna see it just to laugh....

PERFECt. Thats why i love the cinema... just dont find renting the same - oh and our seats are REALLY comfy
  8. yeah it is... always good to come up against awkward constructions, things nailed together and just different surfaces.... sort of makes you focus a bit more....
  9. youd have to move your leg from the floor to their head before their arm reached fill extension..... youd have to be REALLY REALLY fast.
  10. cool.... ! Im a systems analyst and network engineer. as well as a tkd instructor [unpaid]
  11. how about peoples personal sites though - "look at my new XMA demonstration"..... things like that. Anyway slightly offtopic - irreelvant of whether they broke copyright - it was a good video.
  12. just to add to that - it would depend on how autistic they are.... obviously if they are out and about they probably arent autistic savonts.... but they may have more serious issues.
  13. i dont know of any in particular but Classical Dimenions .com has lectures by Willie chong lee lim on various arts.
  14. "The Encyclopedia of Tae Kwond Do" 15 volume edition [pre 1988 edition] by Gen. Choi Hong Hi
  15. remember the english words are just arough phonetic approximation to the korean words!!
  16. oh way away from me then - all the way down here in gloucestershire.
  17. Yeah I agree, sometimes people just give up and go well i failed one test so im off. Ive seen a couple of people keep coming back to have a go and really put the effort in.... just hope i dont have to experience it too soon.
  18. in all honesty - and i dont really understand this atall - why would you honestly wnat ot learn not to blink? unless of course your blinking all the time.
  19. that was just a spyware infested link when i went.... oh well also hes a very nhb stylist anyway isnt he... not necessarily the choice many would make who dont choose that path in MA.
  20. that fortune cookie knot is quite similar to how we tie our belts [tkd]
  21. Ive never understood the idea of keying the belt.... just generally it doesnt look like normal wear does it.... i mean ive had my BB for only 2 years, but it gets daily use, and the only wear i can see on it is around the not.... and it looks pretty much the same with my instructors whos had his since he was a 1st dan and is now a 4th [9 years] - so ours seems to last a while... although at comps i have seen people with really "worn" and ripped belts, i dont really get it.... i dont think anyone really looks at them and goes "WOW they must train hard". oh and congrats on the sandan at 18 im trainign for my 2nd degree [tkd] and ill hopefully be 20 when i grade for it [ 9 months time]
  22. Unless they just use the teacher student principle....your one or the other. But other than that yes I agree. 10 kyu / kup with little steps/ tags / whatever in between to make up however many belts they may have.
  23. yeah 4 pints is slightly more than was mentioned - thats quite a lot of milk, wqith 6 meals im not surprised you put bulk on!
  24. back leg hook kick turning kick combination step down into sitting stance palm scooping block.
  25. Yeah most TKD organisations have belt colours relating to a trees growth - and the original doboks that choi had made had a tree emblem on the back..... [made out of the phrase tae kwon do].
