  1. I just saw a Liu He Ba Fa video clip online, how's it different from Tai Chi cause I don't see there's any differnce between them.
  2. Go to this site http://www.fightingart.ca/ and click on Dojo. Hope it helps.
  3. Not really, have you ever seen a Tai Chi or Hung Gar free sparring class?
  4. Hi Mokujin_98 Escrima or Kali should be a pretty effective style as long as you do it right. We got a Kali class in our university and what those people do seems like dancing to me but they all do full contact sparring during class time. Overall I think Escrima/Kali is a great and complete style, even more complete than Hapkido since they include weapon fighting.
  5. Not much Kung Fu styles have realistic sparring sessions, I am not so sure about Wing Chun but I know that Baji Quan has a sparring session and so does San Shou., those animals may not have them I think.
  6. Kyokushin does suffered a few defeat at the hands of San Shou (which I don't believe that really counts). But other than that they had done really well. The biggest and ONLY possible rival for Kyokushin now I believe is only Muay Thai, San Shou I'm not so sure but I think Kyokushin is still ahead of it.
  7. A lot of those members have been studying martial art for around like 10 to 20 years it is hard for people like me who's under 20 to imagine. For now I think I am just going to stick with one style and maybe pick up another after 5 more years.
  8. Shujinko ( The Pai Mei guy ) is the main character of this game. You play as him in the conquest mode and a little boy to an old man. Shujinko's strength is able to absorb powers of other fighters and use them as his own, he has A LOT of special moves including Raiden's flying Raiden "which is now called flying Jinko", Sub Zero's ice blast, Liu Kang's bicycle kick, Ermax/Kenshin's tele slam, Scorpion's spear, and some moves of the new character Kobra. He's fighting styles are Mantis, Shaolin and Dan Tian Dao. He's a great character but you have to finish the entire Konquest mode in order to make him selectable.
  9. Yeah, you can choose a zombie version of Liu Kang, but Liu Kang's ending said that he 's reborn as Raiden merged his body and soul together.
  10. Anyone here knows where can I find some good Wing Chun clips online?
  11. Just curious, does anyone here do Sun Bin Quan??
  12. Do those open palm Ki strikes really work during a spar or combat? I only know that those closed fist with the index finger and thumb extended is really dangerous because I seen my friends doing them and they are usually targeting the rib areas which can bring lots of damage or even kill those you are fighting.
  13. The styles of MK:DA is werid. Take Baji Quan for example, Li Mei's stand one one leg and there's no elbow or body attacks, I might say it's not even Baji Quan at all. In MK:D the newest MK game, Liu Kang used a style called "Jun Fan" which seems a lot like JKD. Jun Fan was actually Bruce Lee's Chinese name and Liu Kang is a "Bruce Lee" character so I think his Jun Fan = Jeet Kune Do.
  14. It's a form of praying mantis and that's all I know.
  15. I do have to admit, Janni Lee is the best JKD fighter in video games, Marshall / Forest come real close but just not as great as Lee. Jacky and Sarah (I'm not sure if she's using JKD) they just lack a touch of "BruceLeeness"
  16. Hey, does Hapkido has a lot of slapping style strikes? I downloaded a clip from the net and the instructor uses those slapping strikes he called "Ki strikes".
  17. You seems to like JKD a lot, so how's Law of Tekken? I think you are right, I dislike Julia because her Baji Quan is limited to only a few moves and she got a lot others from Lui He Quan and even pro wrestling. Yun is mostly Baji Quan but he lacks the power a Baji Quan user should have this goes the same with Julia. Ok Gato, his profile said his style is Baji Quan and Lui He Quan, but other than stomping his feet on the ground his style seems too werid to be Baji.
  18. Kicking range is really bad for me, I sparred with my Caporia friend and he can stop me from attacking by just keeping me at kicking range with his superior kicking technics. I tend to use more of my elbow, shoulder, body and back than kicks or punches which is why I do well better in close/short range.
  19. I don't do Karate, but from what I have seen so far, I'll say my favourite is Saifa. Goju Ryu Kata seems to be a lot different from the Katas of other Karate styles. They seems to be lighter and softer than those of Shotokan or Shorin Ryu.
  20. No he did touch me and that's not push hand it a what they call a double hand Chi push.
  21. Thanks for the info CLFDisciple. Actually Baji Quan isn't really a "complete" style, we have but 2 forms in total the "Da Jia" or big form and "Xiao Jia" or small form unlike Choy Lee Fut or Hung Gar which have their own forms of fighting, Qi Gong and weapon style. Baji Quan does have some long range moves but they are rather not as effective as those close range moves. I work extreme well against opponent in a close range body to body match but I am just powerless against those who can keep their range with me.
  22. How can those Tai Chi guys generate so much power with their Chi press. I went to my mother's Tai Chi class yesterday and the instructor demo some double hand push move on me and that power was so great it near knocked me to the ground. How can those people have such a great power even without stomping their feet (Baji Quan way) on the ground in order to generate power?
  23. You know what, in most Bruce Lee films Karate fighters were always pictureed as bad guys.
  24. Because I collect them. So far I collect everything other than Baji Quan cause I already got a good teacher for it. I post these here because I find some of the style very interesting and not known by others, Sun Bin Quan being one of them.
