Hi Just came across an article about Monkey Style "Hou Quan" in some health magainze, it said that by practicing Monkey style it will improve your health and might help you to live longer. Is Monkey style something like Tai Chi that can also improve your personal health? Oh yeah, just how effective is Monkey style? I had never seen anyone using monkey style in combat, is it effective or is it just full of useless fancy and funny monkey movements??

Emperors Long Fist?
dingyuan replied to gojuchad's topic in Kung Fu, JKD, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, and Chinese Martial Arts
Cannon fist or "Pao Chui" did came from Chen style Tai Chi, but somehow they have now become an independent style. Nowdays you can find Pao Chui of all kinds of styles including a Shaolin version. I think Pao Chui is now known mostly as "Pao Quan" which is consider one of the Long Fist style. -

Haha I love to juggle which is impossible to do in real life. Juggling is a very important element in 3D fighting games which made it extremely unrealistic. -

Question about Judo
dingyuan replied to dingyuan's topic in BJJ, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and Grappling Martial Arts
Yeah, Jujutsu strikes may be pretty simple but they are very effective. I know some Classical Jujutsu guy who love to use pure strikes instead of throws or submissions. All I know so far is that Jujutsu have almost the same types of throws in Judo but because throws are just part of Jujutsu, those Jujutsu guys I know did not concentrate on their throws too much, most of them will use all kinds of moves from, strikes, throws to submissions. -

Those martial art styles in Jade empire aren't real, but those in Mortal Kombat are somewhat pretty close to reality -

Hi I am just wondering other than throws and locks are there any kind of strikes or kicks in Judo? I have heard someone talks about "Judo kicks" but I never seen them before. Some of the books I read mention that Judo took out all the strikes and kicks from Ju Justu and left only throws and locks. Can anyone tell me the answer? Thank you.

It means nothing really, just don't make a first strike during a fight or never start a fight. Be a buddha unless you been pushed to the limit in my view I'll take at most 5 strikes if the attacker still wants more so no more buddha for him, it's demon time
