Just a suggestion - after intense workouts, don't just "stop", you have to gradually cool down and stretch. It's such a misconception that you only stretch BRFORE your workout.

Marijuana Usually smoked as a cigarette or joint, or in a pipe or bong, marijuana has appeared in "blunts" in recent years. These are cigars that have been emptied of tobacco and re-filled with marijuana, sometimes in combination with another drug, such as crack. Some users also mix marijuana into foods or use it to brew tea. The main active chemical in marijuana is THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol). Short-term effects of marijuana use include problems with memory and learning; distorted perception; difficulty in thinking and problem-solving; loss of coordination; and increased heart rate, anxiety, and panic attacks. Health Hazards Effects of Marijuana on the Brain. Researchers have found that THC changes the way in which sensory information gets into and is acted on by the hippocampus. This is a component of the brain's limbic system that is crucial for learning, memory, and the integration of sensory experiences with emotions and motivations. Investigations have shown that THC suppresses neurons in the information-processing system of the hippocampus. In addition, researchers have discovered that learned behaviors, which depend on the hippocampus, also deteriorate. Effects on the Lungs. Someone who smokes marijuana regularly may have many of the same respiratory problems that tobacco smokers have. These individuals may have daily cough and phlegm, symptoms of chronic bronchitis, and more frequent chest colds. Continuing to smoke marijuana can lead to abnormal functioning of lung tissue injured or destroyed by marijuana smoke. Regardless of the THC content, the amount of tar inhaled by marijuana smokers and the level of carbon monoxide absorbed are three to five times greater than among tobacco smokers. This may be due to marijuana users inhaling more deeply and holding the smoke in the lungs. Effects of Heavy Marijuana Use on Learning and Social Behavior. A study of college students has shown that critical skills related to attention, memory, and learning are impaired among people who use marijuana heavily, even after discontinuing its use for at least 24 hours. Researchers compared 65 "heavy users," who had smoked marijuana a median of 29 of the past 30 days, and 64 "light users," who had smoked a median of 1 of the past 30 days. After a closely monitored 19- to 24-hour period of abstinence from marijuana and other illicit drugs and alcohol, the undergraduates were given several standard tests measuring aspects of attention, memory, and learning. Compared to the light users, heavy marijuana users made more errors and had more difficulty sustaining attention, shifting attention to meet the demands of changes in the environment, and in registering, processing, and using information. The findings suggest that the greater impairment among heavy users is likely due to an alteration of brain activity produced by marijuana. Longitudinal research on marijuana use among young people below college age indicates those who used have lower achievement than the non-users, more acceptance of deviant behavior, more delinquent behavior and aggression, greater rebelliousness, poorer relationships with parents, and more associations with delinquent and drug-using friends. Why do we strive so hard to do the splits?
three60roundhouse replied to SaiFightsMS's topic in Health and Fitness
Oh my God! This is motivating me even more at my school now, too! They just started this at my school like two months ago, and i really want one . Like KickChick said...it is mainly fot the kids, and to my knowledge, only like 5 people have them on their uniforms, maybe more have them and don't display them, but I have to tell you, most of the kids who have them are like 6 or 7; the younger children are more flexible. -
FBI List for Teachers to monitor Kids
three60roundhouse replied to TKD_McGee's topic in General Chat
You know, I am interested in criminology. In fact, my dream is to be a criminal profiler for the FBI. What about killing animals as a trait? I read in many places that up to 35% of serial killers tortured animals as kids, including Eddie Gein, the most gruesome ever. Hehe. Yuck. -

What instrument do you play? I play the guitar in a crappy band with my brothers. Well, proud to say we are improving a LITTLE!

None of ther above. My answer is simply, "happy." Neither fame nor wealth ensures this.

Are you kidding? Linkin Park is dyed-in-the-wool nu-metal. Some of their songs are ok, but they have all the elements of nu-metal! DJ, Ibanez (I have one, too ), Highish Powerchords, screaming, and even (blech) rapping.

Atams is one I've heard much about...I've also seen alot written about "Howard" kimonos. Anyone have opinions?

Wait...I'm confused. People are saying "I like punk...Linkin Park is my favorite band". Linkin park isn't punk

We learn nunchaku basics and we used to have an instructor who taught private bo lessons, but he went to college so now it's just the nunchaku.

three60roundhouse replied to SaiFightsMS's topic in Health and Fitness
No, but it would be nice to prove all the people who know me as the girl who is stiff as a board wrong. Besides, it's just a personal milestone for me. I always wanted to be able to stretch well, and I will continue trying until I get there. -

There are alternative ways to get rid of lice as opposed to shaving the beards off. -
Maybe it is becasue of the low amount of schools. I for one have a hard time finding schools in my area. Even mt tae kwon do school had just moved near me, so I was lucky. I searched forever to find a jiu-jitsu school, and now I am only beginning to train the art becasue my TKD instructor will come down to my TKD dojang every week to give a lesson. Also, moving up in rank is important to many. I for one would prefer to move up in skill, but doesn't JKD not use belts? That might be a deterrant for people who just want to be "black belts".

I am starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and I would like to purchase a kimono. What brands do you recommend? Also, what weave? Single, Double, or Gold? Thank you very much.

jumping spinning kicks
three60roundhouse replied to spinninggumby's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Only experienced fighters are taught later to "tuck" their other leg. It is easier to learn just letting the other leg "hang", but I think it's better to tuck. I haven't been taught 540's yet, but I do this for flying/jumping kicks and 360's.
