  1. Isnt Chuck Norris still ranked as one of the top martial artists in the world? I remember when i was little i use to watch Walker, the texas ranger for the action...then seeing him in Return of the dragon a few years laer made me laugh...iono why.But Chuck still can kick * for his age..
  2. Just remember, when your on the stage/mat or whatever..just concitrate on the surface your on.Just think of it you just practicing for that event.Wing it and eventually you'll start getting into it and have fun =D Good luck!!
  3. hm,yeah your right,my mistake.
  4. oh,i thought he was just gonna switch to another skool, not styles. Switching styles will surely put u in the start again, but your advantage over other begginers is your flexibility and experience in martial arts. But this is the tkd forum,so he should be talkin bout it.
  5. Bruce Lee is more known in america since he was the first to show modern arts to america. Wong fei hung on the other hand is a very well known guy is china,he was a real person in life who fought for justice back in the days of like 1920's.A lot of movie directors use him as a character hero in a lot of kung fu movies. here he is--> http://www.kungfucinema.com/images/articles/2001-04-08-01.jpg
  6. When you do belt testings and pass you should get a certificate approving you to your next belt level.Just show the certificate to the instructor at the other school and im sure they'll allow you to stay in the same lvl. In my school, when we pass we get certificates, iono bout everyone here though..
  7. blood sport, kickboxer and the quest was the only movies i liked van damme in. And didnt donnie yen choreograph the fighting in blade 2? Anywhos Bolo yeung is one of my all time favorites.I like him because of his agility and swiftness for a big guy like him.In bloodsport he didnt move that fast but in the movie breathing fire,he moved like the wind, maybe becuz in bloodsport he was freakin built...iono.Theres one movie where Bolo is the main character and he is a good guy, forgot what the movie was called..
  8. yall forgot one person...Donnie Yen(blade 2,iron monkey, fist of the red dragon, shanghai knights) I don like van damme, these days his movies suck.I remember he played Guile in stree fighter the movie....A Proud american with a french accent..how awkward
  9. i thought jason scott lee in ''Dragon:Bruce Lee story'' was a good immatater. He spoke like him, almost had body like him except he was more masculan than bruce, and all the yelling in the movie was his voice.
  10. Books wont teach you much,it'll just say stuff which you will learn soon or alreadie have.Only book that was useful to me was that bruce lee's self defense book which teachs and shows pictures of what to do in some situations in a fight.
  11. Snake and earth,hm...it has a catchy mix
  12. i dun take karate, and i know tkd and karate spar differently, but il ltell u whut my master told me when i thought i sucked. ''The reason why you suck is because you think that you do.You lack in something,it could be speed, refelxes, etc. Find your weakness and work on it.'' also he said.. ''When you spar, you must have a free/cleared mind,do not plan a attack..just do it.Sparring is all about refelxes, when they attack you'll instantly attack back with a counter.'' iono if this helps but yeah..just trying to help-.-
  13. i think whut 47 is tryin to say is that the spar gear is only red and blue for a reason. And there are a few reasons why.. first, tkd isnt about lookin fancy..and second most tournements only have a red n blue button.
  14. why not buy those elastic bands? they're great for biceps, triceps and shoulders. And there only about $20-$30
  15. of course. They work out and train 10 times harder than a person in america would.
  16. I never really cared about whut belt i had. After all its not the belt that makes you a great fighter, its you. I mean for example..im only still a purple belt, ibut ive sparred with black belts countlessly to gain experience, and some of them ive beaten.I won because i take tkd seriously and train hard to become on of the best, unlike sum people in my class. But in my skool it would take about 3 years to get black,
  17. whut up everyone, ive posted before making my intro because when i first came to this site i saw those posts so yeah.My name is gene,im korean and i take tkd =D
  18. uh..best street fight ive seen was last year after skool, this sophmore azn kid got into a fight with this tall black kid,i think he was a junior.sophmore kid axed kicked the guy n the guy dropped lol, best one
  19. This may sound a little original but one person i would not like to get into a fight is with Bruce Lee. If youve seen his life movie and read a few of his Bio's you'd see that hes never lost a fight(except once when he awas a lil kid but that doesnt count xP). Heres fought against sailors, random cauncasians that started fights, even and fellow Gung Fu master and the brother. All of these people have lost to bruce lee.He crippled the gung fu user(turned *) at his jkd demo and the brother(paralyzed),during the shot of his first movie in china. Also he created his own fighting style, bruce lee is an intellectual fighter,he knows what he does when hes in a fight. Btw,anyone knoe who Bruce LI is? i saw one of his movies and it was horrible,he only looks like bruce if u slap sunglasses on him.
  20. woah u guys pay that much for belt tests?!?!?! My master only charges around $60 for belt tests, the monthly payment is more than that($90). Only time tests get that expensive is when i hit black belt and up.
  21. Another way is,go into the split position(well atleast the farthest you can go),and try to touch your head to the floor.Either the floor or to your knee's,alternate by moving your head left n right knee's.And remember to breath out when you lean foward.
  22. sorry if im going off topic for you guys, but i just wanted to reply to The Ones comment. Yeah its true TKD has turned more of a sport than martial art.Even my Master concitrates more on me and other students to be better fighters. He doesnt really care if you get the self defense moves right(grapples),and just wants us to be readie for tournements.See what the USA does to our art when its an olympic event?! haha jp jp
