  1. I wonder if any art has ever practiced a defense against a glow worm?
  2. Little Dragon, I am speaking in terms of certification via lineage. He has to have been "certified" from someone. That someone had to have been certified from someone else. And so on. And per the thread of "The Master", what do you think qualifies him as a master? Now, don't misconstrue this as an attempt to discredit him. And I mean no offence. My point, which is not totaly directed to you, is: The Kukiwon, the one I am thinking of is the largest, oldest (not ancient) Korean martial art institution. So any corrections would be appreciated.
  3. I am not speaking in terms of whom overcomes whom. I am speaking in terms of origins, or foundational structures.
  4. In essence, I am not doing a comparison or historical gathering. But, I understand your point.
  5. Black Belts without sparring. TKD producing fighters that can handle underground fight clubs. (Hope it isn't the "Black Belts without sparring" in the underground fight clubs) Now I HAVE heard of everything, I suppose.
  6. I agree with the above. But some of DM's posts (of the BL/JKD subject) seem to "bash" BruceLee/JKD is what I am tryimg to say. If I am mistaken, I apologize
  7. Yeah, you one fellow that I would like to exchange PMs with. May I PM you? Sorry, did not mean to insinuate something vulgar.
  8. But DM "appears" to bash Bruce Lee/JKD. Sorry DM, if I am mistaken. No offence intended.
  9. I could be mistaken on the Kukiwon, but the one I am thinking of is the largest, oldest (not ancient) Korean martial art institution. So any coorections would be appreciated becuase I am going from "the top of my head".
  10. tsd is a deriviative of shotokan. tkd came from political debates in korea because tsd looked "too japanese" Close. My sources have the same idea. As believed by some, TSD was there before TKD, and believed to influence the latter. And since, Japan had a strong hold in Korea, Koreans that were able to, learned, (some went as fars as Japan) and incorporated "new systems". Thus "new" organizations were formed for "control". And out of those organizations, sub organizations were also formed out of controversy.
  11. Yes I know. But giving the nature of TKD, and per its competition, kicks seem be the stronger emphasis.
  12. Then, we will have to "sit down" with my Shimu in order to get the full effect.
  13. Not so different. A friend of mine that trained in various arts, open up hs school and uses the exact. The availbility of striped belts, via supply houses, had him add extra belts for extra tests, for extra monetary procurement. The color structure (less the stripe ones) have a common as...............fill in the blank-anyone?
  14. at what distance? A "luring" stance, to which a lot of counter moves can be launched. The distance is the factor on how quickly the opponent comes in, thus the appropriate counter launched.
  15. A lot of Taditional Chinese Family systems do not have ranking. One system that I had studied has ony 3 ranks (actually four if you count the highest honor) Black-In darkness, no "seeing" Green-Jade, having prosperity, "some sight" White-In lightness, having "sight" Yellow-Reserved for instructors, path of "sight"
  16. Nice post....
  17. I have somne pics and persoanl accoounts from people on how VERY DIFFERENT things were 50+years ago....Hmnnn
  18. Very good point indeed. But does that give to the opinion that people would bash Bruce personally, or his system?
  19. Batman....rescue this thread.
  20. Yes, The duplicity from a commodity per pecuniary avarice. Thus, the hidden motive can either be revealed, or remain.
  21. Does it now? I have seen people not lock up but are faster and more powerful. Hmnnn.......
  22. Too far for me too look up
  23. I had trained in both TKD and Shotokan. The katas are almost identical.
  24. Yes, but where do each get their facts? How do they prove their facts? Facts, like anything are told from different perspectives. How can one state something factual, without even being there? And if they were there, what will stop them from forming their own explanation or opinion slightly different from the event happening?? It is like two (or more) different religion philosophies. In all, it is formulated opinions that have conflicting views. None actuallly right or wrong. And, I thought William Cheung was also a authority of this.
