I like what WW posted. Simular to a writing/preparation class I have for students that were to attend a tournament. Actually, for those students, we would meet for special "classes" the night before, and the hours before the tournament. (Besides working on things pertaining weeks before). I would show them videos of my other students at other tournaments. It comes down to the short of it "nerves"? -
Look, if you are not sure, or "feel" some hardship, check out your instructor's lineage. If it is hard and true, then you must stay hard and true. Look not upon what others do or achieve, but reflect upon these onto yourself.

Shorin Ryuu, You study Iaido? Katori-Shinto, Hasegara, Mukai, Yagyu, or Omori? Is it a whole schooling of it and does it belong to a organization, such as Zen Nihon Iaido Remni? (I hoped I had spelled all of this correctly) Does oyur Iaido, have Iaijutsu or Kendo-Kenjutsu practices as well? -

Kicking apples off knives. I wonder if the knives are sharp. I wonder how many, doing the practice, had cut themselves? -

Where did the figure become 700? Such a round and even number. -
Gee, talk about being married to a cereal!

There is no 'correct spelling'. Kanji does not transalate perfectly into English, so the best you can do it spell it as you see it. Therefore, such as with karate, you may get variations. (Enpi / Empi in Karate) Interesting you should mention Kanji. Or Kana, Hebon-shiki romaji or Hepburn, and kunrei-shiki romaji.

Lazy Scholar, I think you are taking DM too literally. See, DM has a way of writing and a way of conveyance. Trust me, I know. I went "round and round" with him on other issues. He doesn't know, or perhaps he may now, that I look at things from every perspective. My posts are not always my views/opinions. Take the Kung Fu thread. He has yet to understand, or maybe he does, that I speak upon it with terms in accordance to etymology, introduction, and existence. I am not thoroughly concerned on what it is, rather than what it was, from a historical sense, or how its was used per the many different dialogues. With that, I could continue to post on that thread, but I do not want it to come to a debate. Opinions are formulations and I do not want to insult, offend, or continue to force or counter-force his. So please, re-read this thread, or ask him to further explain himself.
