Curious, which book was this in? Or are you being facetious? Of the first, perhaps calling it Chinese, because he WAS Chinese (which he claim his US citizenship-somewhat trying to have cake and eat it too) So perhaps JKD is American. And don't let me raant on those ethic groups, like Asian-Americans, Italian-Americans, etc., as if they are "seperate Americans" from other Amercians....geez. Of the second, somewhat of a "oxy-moron". If he had stated this, makes me wonder of his terms of philosophy. Hmmn....LittleDragon reminds me of someone......

The Top 13 Signs You've Joined the Wrong Martial Arts School
47MartialMan replied to a topic in General Chat
Cute....but the thread is about signs you are in the wrong martial art school. Just like YOU are in the wrong thread. Heck, we are all guilty of "cross threading" -

Hmmn, to my knowledge, circus performances are now resticted on what can be done with juveniles. It has been decades since I have seen: Kids on the high trapeze, or little girls riding a trotting horse around the ring - standing on it's back, or a blindfolded child standing still while a knife thrower sends a dozen knives his way If this is still going on, then child endangerment laws have to be enforced. -
Yes, a magician would "set" up the performance. Street magic, is not really new. It was happening in the early 1900's to earn money. A street magician, has his area, assistants, "by standers" and "tricks" set strategically. It is what as called as "the stage is set"

No, I am much too old to have multiple routines such as martial arts and magic performances. Plus, my spouse and 6 year old demand much atttention. So I had to limited my activities. Magic performing takes a lot of time and practice. Then you get gigs, that take a lot of time away on the weekends. Which I reserve the weeeknds for them. I had checked out the link you gave of the Amazing Randi. Very interesting site. I will contact some of the "old" guild (magicians) members and point it out to them. Further, some tricks are not simple. It takes a lot of mental and physical preparation, despite what "props" are used. Props only aid, in some "tricks", a small portion of the performance. Magic tricks/performing, is just as "demanding of practice" as martial arts.

Drunken boxing

Yeah, but he has a lot of experience in "judging" what his body can do. Also, the same experience to know if a stunt can be performed. And, a lot of injuries. I have read, he "self-insures"and his stunt team. In one of his biography books, he lists his top most "hair raising" that he probably "won't do again" stunts. Some martial artists have a problem with him, per his comedic blend. They choose to loook at martial arts too serriously. As if the martial arts that practice doesn't have any "bumbling" mistakes our aspirations. -

He did say he did not "like" fighting, but he had practice martial arts. In another interview, he admitted that he did not want to be known as a martial artists, but as a performer. He explained as such to prevent anyone from seeking to challenge his martial art ability. -
I dont refuse to participate anything. I have tested much. And until now, I cannot believe it. But, as I must state, as I had always stated: My "book is not closed on it". And how is myself, in going to PM you, defines my research as being other than serious? What possible conclusion from the PM will determine if I am or am not serious? The fact that I PM gives you evidence that I am serious? Or does it give you a method for me to be curious enough to read, in detail what you have to say? I choose to PM you. PM is on the way

Yes, he could have set it up. I had did the same. It is easy to do. Now let me bring my OWN candle and choose the environment.

No use thaiboxerken-because of subliminally, you are not going to convince people that Have it in their "mind" that KI?CHI does not exist. It is like trying to prove to Christians or others that Christ or God did not exist. Part of my reasoning (KI?Chi) has to deal with my background as a performing magician. In a magicians guild, we discuss this all of the time. Even on occasion, in the past, went to such demos and proved otherwise. And so far as to "prop" the same demos. So far, I have not found it to exist. Notice the words so far and found.
