  1. Yeah, but that is the dilemma. Wing Chun is more obsecure, compared to other arts that you can check the instructor's "creditentials" via certification with lineage.
  2. Sometimes you have to return "rudeness", so that "rudeness" would not continue.
  3. "Parking lot" Yeah we had those. Had to learn "Defenses against a Buick"
  4. I been "on" and "off the wall" many times in Judo and Aikido.
  5. It is almost of a religious tome. "The Greatest Story Nevered Told"
  6. kuen tou "hand drill" Not the power tool-hand drill, or non-powered "hand drill"
  7. No. The terrible is a mind wasted.
  8. The magic of a warlock. "You put a spell on me" Now I cant get that song out of my head and I really don't like it.
  9. Drunken style, because he is drunk when on this board. Sorry gilbert, just funnin.
  10. So, the choke was done when the marine wasn't prepared to get serious? Hmmn, I wonder if then it would not have been effective? I knocked out a marine. My cousin that has been one for about 6 years. I think this is what is called a "two-timer" or "second tour", or "career military"?
  11. Ki can be defined simply as mental energy. Practicing ‘ki’ involves nothing more than learning how to harness it and combine it with your body’s physical power. Nothing magic, or supernatural. Agree some what. "Mind over matter? The mind getting pysched out? Ki is no good in a fight? After experiencing that, I say, ‘ki’ is everything in a fight. (If ‘ki’ is defined, understood and practiced properly.) While attacking him, there were no signs of stress, fear, flinching, just calm, fluid, confident motion. Is it ki, or the ability to control the mentality? Or is it experience? And, he was your instructor. Experienced by many years. And he had seen and know of your abilities. He maybe a "natural" fight tactician. you get older, you must revise your style True. But what if I don't practice ki and accomplish the same thing or goal? You could say yes, but are there any 50 or 60 year olds at your gym? Yes. And I had the pleasure of working out with a 71 year old Grandmaster. No Ki there. Probably the "key" to revise his method(s) as he aged. Sorry, I cannot "completely" believe in KI/Chi existence. Up until now, demos that I had personally witnessed, I can disprove. But, my "book is not closed" on it.
  12. busling, Keep doing it. A coupple of "decades" LATER, EVEN IF YOU DISCONTINUE MARTIAL ART PRACTICE, THE REMINISCING IS FABULOUS. SOORY ABOUT THE CAPS. FRACKIN SHIFT KEY GOT STUCK--ARRR
  13. Here is a good question, for a beginner to ask- How can one tell if the instructor is a authentic or "complete" Wing Chun one? And not some "text book worm" or "video professor"?
  14. Complete. How about one that ranks to black belt?(Funny thing in a Chinese system) Complete. One that the instructor does not take your money and flee? Complete. A complete undertanding of the system-per example-origin? Complete. Like not having a thing lacking? Per eamples-discipline and method. Complete. Can it be interpreted as a "completion" of the individual's self expression? per-"Wing Chun completes me" Sometimes "complete" could be held in an absolute term like Chief, or perfect, which is not subject to comparison.
  15. go for a kick to the groin area. strike an eye poke to the eyes. Hmmn, I think we covered some "not-so" possibilites?
  16. WW which do you "roll" on? Yeah, drinken boxing is the most lethal when the practitioner is ACTUALLY drunk. His breath will "kill" ya!
  17. Ok, that would be a good point.
