  1. From what I understand.. There are NO ninjas anymore. Not as they meant to be at least. What survived for this time was the Art of Ninjutsu which is practiced as a martial art part of the Japanese culture. The same way We have Kendo/aikido/kyudo/aikijujitsu but, we don't have Samurais. Even the Ninjustu practitioners aren't called Ninjas but Ninjutsukas.
  2. Hapkido.. i've read About Combat Hapkido, it says it covers all that. https://www.ichf.com
  3. I like both, its good to feel how a technique is done and also to watch for details.
  4. Hi, Wellcome to karate forums.
  5. Hello, wellcome to the forums. There's a trainer in Thailand that specialize in training womans for Thai Boxing. Don't remember his name right now.
  6. What? In all the years i have been involved in the M.A. here in Panama, i haven't heard of any of person been killed on the Dojo during a training. I don't think that's even a common thing. Sad, really Sad. but not common. But don't let that stop for training. I mean, more people are dead on driving accidents, will that stop you from driving your car??.
  7. No Art can give you a guarantee amount for that... Its just depends on how hard you train. Why do you want to beat up people in the first place?
  8. True... Seraph (chinese guy) was the role that Jet Li was supossed to play in the Matrix. I read that Jet Li turned the role in Favor to do another movie called "HERO"... not sure about that, i think that it was all about the money.
  9. Hi and wellcome to the Forums.
  10. I know we live in a World that everyone have diferent opinions about a particular subject.. Now about Joel Silver's comments on Keanu Reeves been better than Jet Li, I have only one thing to say.. BBwwhahahahahahahahahahh!!!! I know he's the producer and he's trying to sell his movie.. But come on.. Pleaseeee!!!
  11. Since TKD and Karate are Both sport-self defense oriented (in some cases more sport than self defense) and Wing Chun is 100% self defense, wing chun sounds the logical choice. Still, doesn't hurt to go to the Schools and watch classes and talk to the instructors. good luck.
  12. maybe some of them are legit... too bad you can't really tell because all of them said almost the same things. lol
  13. I don't know, but if you find one, let me know, im interest as well.
  14. Yes, but still, If you go and train with a Master of Tai Chi, he'll teach you how to use those moves in real fights. ALL moves in traditional martial arts have applications in real fight because that was the reason they were created. ALL action directors says that the moves they use for movies Aren't and shouldn't be used in real fight because they are strickly for movies. Check the documentary "Jackie Chan My Stunts". Look friend, if i take your words, that training for movie makes the person a martial artist like us..then, not only keanu Reeves is a M.A. , Cameron Díaz, Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore, Sean William Scott, Uma Turman, etc.. are also martial artists in all the extension of the word who can use those skills if they are attacked for real....lol
  15. WAYYYYY too diferent. I mean, The training i did for Real fight or even for Sport matches, doesn't like like anything i watched on The Matrix. That is movie fighting. Picking Martial arts most flashing moves and make them even more flashier and add acrobatics, stunts, etc... The moves you use for real fight are short, quick and to the point.
  16. I don't know which one is the official for the Korean Goverment... The KIDO HAE is the organization reconized by the Korean Goverment for all traditional Korean Martial Arts, this doesn't include TKD.
  17. Oh I see now, That's why Aikido isn't so usefull for us the HUMANS. Just joking. lol
  18. He's a movie-martial artist and his style is "Hollywood-Do".. He trained for the movie-period.
  19. One of the styles that had a strong influence in Okinawan Karate was the Crane style of kung fu... you can find the Crane stance and moves in many of the advance karate Katas.
  20. Roberto "manos de piedra" Duran, what else do I need to say? Hey, but Im panamenian, who did you think i'll choose?? lol
  21. Yes, Give it a try. Muay Thai is all about Sparring. Maybe you can even try some of your Wing Chun moves on sparring and see how they work against a trained oponent.
  22. Poor Jean Claude, when i watched "The Colony" and "Knock Off", In which he even tried to copy jackie chan's movie style fights, i felt really sorry for him. He must quit on been the lead on his movies.. maybe if he just try to be humble enough and accept a supporting role on a jackie chan or Jet Li... well, i guess there's a posibility that none wants to work with him.. By the way.. In "Maximun Risk" he ALSO played twins so that makes it 4 times Jean Claude have played two roles in the same movie.
  23. It was a good film to watch for the Action Only. Its kind of a Friday night moviethat you watch with your friends. 100% macho-men movie lol Plotless and no-acting, car chasing, hot chicks, lots of good action scenes, fist fights, etc.. lol
  24. I liked the Matrix Reloaded. The fight scenes were much better than in the first one. Weapons fights, gun fights, one vs one, 3 vs. one, 1,000 vs one lol they had everything. Special mention to Keanu Reeves, he improved his on-sceen figthing skills a lot. Still, he can't act but he fought better. lol Now my only complain was about the scene of the "Zion's Orgy" which sounded more like a filler than anything else, didn't do anything for the plot. Same as the "kiss me and i'll tell" Scene. Overall, a good movie to watch for Fun.
  25. Best way to escape from a submission hold is not allow yourself to get into one. Escape before or during the technique is been worked.. One its Locked, its almost a suicide trying to escape.
