Tyson is overhyped, overplayed, and a *. At his height he was forcefed opponents, he was the shining star in a depleted heavy weight ranks, and had no control. The man is completely insane. literally, clinically, legally. He cant focus the thoughts in his pee sized brain long enough to make a coherent decision, whether its regarding fighting or life. He has been dragged kicking and screaming through his entire career, and has nothing to show for it but 35 million dollars in debt, and highlight reel that looks like a ripleys believe it or not episode. At the most he was a hard hitter with the ability to freeze opponents in fear of his power. At worst he was a puppet dangled around to amuse a few people and make a few people other then himself rich. great fighter? No. able to do anything other then box subpar opponents? No

somebody yells comments at you
Luckykboxer replied to dear john's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
if he would have attacked you at that point you would have been just as guilty as he was in the eyes of the law. because you went out of your way to approach and confront the person. If you had just been walking and he came after you thats a different story, but you cannot go and confront a person directly and get into a fight and claim that sicne he threw the first punch that you were innocent. As a matter of fact the guy could have said he had no idea what you were talking about and could have said he felt threatened by you and felt you were attacking him and he could have possibly claimed self defense... he would have had a better claim on it then you would have anyways[/code] -
Heyas... Just moved this last week... man it really amazes me how much crap you accumulate.. still in San Diego, just moved about 12 miles away... I just sit back and wonder how I can have so much stuff in a 2 bedroom place that it takes a 4 bedroom UHaul to move it in 1 trip, with multiple carloads of small stuff to follow..... must be like the whole 10 hot dogs to a pack, and only 8 hot dog buns... hrmmm anyways off to reading posts this should take a while :/

actually the three most spoken languages in Belgium are Dutch(58%), French(32%), and German, followed by english. -
Ok fair enough, Ill answer a few of your comments/questions... first off I didnt change the intent of any of his(I dont think its a woman) comments, I specifically answered his comments one at a time there. His comments looked a bit ridiculous probably because they are /shrug Just because peopel want something to be true doesnt mean it is, and no matter how they debate it, it wont make it any more right. As far as ME not liking it, that is regardless of the point. The point is i listed several reasons why it was bad to have it in the dojo, all having to do with training and studying martial arts. All the reasons i saw why it should be allowed in the dojo had absolutely nothing to do with training and studying martial arts. So you tell me who has the better arguement here? I never said women or men for that matter shouldnt wear makeup, I just said they shouldnt when training and i then stated why. I see absolutely no good reason to wear makeup to train in. Other then LAziness..... I.E. the comment about not wanting to spend the time removing it. As far as making a smug comment about you, I have no need to do that, you did pretty good yourself trying to paint me as the villain and you as the victim, all the while doing the same thing you accuse me of doing and try to make me look bad. Ill let you ponder that. I am glad this forum isnt run as a communist government, because then AFIBirds post count would be spread equally amongst the rest of us and we would have a forum of a bunch of greenbelts making posts hehe humor there.... laugh... haha,....hoho.....hehe.... ok.. As far as me thinking I am right well, isnt that the meaning of an opinion, you feel you are right so you have an opinion, and if you believe you are right you debate your opinion to opposing views to see if it holds up? I still would love to hear why makeup is beneficial in training, and why it is better then not wearing makeup. I already posted long ago in this thread that if anyoen can show me how makeup helps you train better that i would wear it to train in. I still have yet to see that answered though. as far as accepting it?... Ill say when I see soemthing posted that proves my opinion invalid or wrong then ill accept it, until then ill be a staunch opposer of wearing makeup in the studio, just like i am with perfumes and colognes, and dirty clothes, and jewelry, etc.etc.

do yourself a favor dont get a tattoo if you are here asking what to get, then you obviously are only thinking about getting it because someone else is influencing you. A Tattoo should be something you get and do for yourself. It should be something that has meaning to you, and reminds you of something important. Trust me Matt, if you are here asking what to get you really dont want one...

I disagree.. If you said that if a person claims they dont feel something when they are going to fight I would agree. When I fight in the ring I dont have fear, its more anticipation, and adrenaline.. when I fight on the street I would call it concern, and not fear... concern for all things.. I know we are talking semantics here... but I personally think FEAR is a really strong word, and the things I fear, are not really the fight... But things I cant control... like viruses, disease, etc. I dont know if that makes sense or not

you get to the point that you know how to regulate your power and technique to do as much damage as you want and nothing more. This can only be done through extensive training, in many different aspects. I think there is a natural progression that can be seen in martial artists... first... they think they know what martial arts is about.. second... they realize they know nothing.. third... they think they understand what the deal with martial arts is. fourth... they realize they are only an infant in the arts.. fifth.. they think they know what martial arts is about and how to do it. sixth...they realize they are only an infant in the arts... seventh... they think they know what martial arts is about and how to do it. eighth.... getting my point? i guess what i mean is as you progress i think everyone hits a point where they realize they can kill or maim people easily. then they start training to regulate their abilities so they can have more control over the possibilities.. sounds like you are at this stage... It is a very humbling when you first realize you have the technique to do such serious harm to others..... Its very refreshing to hit the point you realize you can regulate it when you need... keep training, be confident in yourself, and let your mind and emotions expand to get you to the next point..

hehe your headed full speed towards a Brick wall bud. I wish you luck, but to do it on your own property is suicide. If it even gets off the ground your going to lose everything you own... maybe not this week.... but soon be a bit smarter... set it up under a corporate figure. set it up completely seperate from your private life. set it up so you are not the person who is easily pronounced in charge. -

well I have had bottles broken over my head, been stabbed a total of 5 times, had a 2x4 broken over my head, been in a couple bad car accidents, tore my bicep, had a nail go completely through my foot, and broken my toe once, finger once, and my nose more times then i can count. But the absolute most painful injury I had... and it wasnt really an injury i guess.... was when i had my appendix erupt. Was the absolute worst pain i can imagine, I was 19 at the time, no insurance, trying to work and go to school. Used to party in mexico often, and figured it was food poisoning at first so i tried my normal medicine.... Tequila....and tequila.... and yes more tequila.... it didnt work, the pain got worse, then i got cold, and had the heater on in my place to over 100, finally I couldnt take it i went outside for fresh air and passed out on the sidewalk, a friend got me took em tot he hospital where i had to endure the worst pain, while at the same time sitting in a waiting room while the attendants didnt do anything. I then started puking... days after the tequila... it was just straight pain/whatever... they gave me a bag and said it would be about 2-3 hours... at that point i couldnt take it and i threw a table used to fill out paperwork across the room into a wall.... I still to this day have no idea how i managed to do that... they took me back to stop the scene i was making, and at this point i couldnt even stand and was writhing in agony. after what my friend said was about 15 mins a nurse came in and tried to get me to lie down flat and when she felt my stomach she was on the phone and withing seconds I had doctors all around me. the best part of this story was seconds later(after the morphine) I felt fine, said thansk to the doctors, said i was going home, and was told the only place i was headed was into surgery... I remember being on cloud 9 with that morphine and the only response i had still has my friend and i laughing to this day.... I looked at the doctor and said well if this is going to take a while does anyone have some cards we can play poker... :/ anyways... long boring story im sure, but that is definitely the worst injury i have ever had and the worst pain i have ever felt... I shudder to think of anyone having to endure that

I havent been involved in any fight clubs.. this is the real world, noone wants to just go somewhere and get their lunch handed to them daily. You might get a couple peopel to fight once or twice but thats it. Now i have been involved in underground pit fights, where people go to fight for a relatively small amount of money and mostly the love of combat and the thrill of winning. If you are looking for a "fun" fight game with no money or stakes other then the fight then find some like minded people and see how long it lasts. Let me tell you this though. Do not dare to attack innocent people who dont want to fight.... too often this type of activity you are discussing ends up with a few peopel getting bored and going out hunting for prey.. Its cowardly, disgraceful, not challenging. And if people like me find you doing it your going to get hurt.....bad. Its one thing to fight others who are willing, but quite another to attack innocent people. Also whatever you do do not allow yourself to get carried away and lose your emotions and hurt people to bad.... when your in a fight and if it gets personal, it can be deadly all to quick. I can respect your desire to fight.... just think out all the possibilities beforehand, so you can keep it to exactly what you want and nothing more -

the only people i would be worried, concerned, or not want to fight with period would be... people with a highly infectuous disease. people on hardcore drugs. people with no emotions, or morals people with nothing to lose, and nothing to live for. there is not one person on this planet that i would be unwilling to fight simply because they are excellent at what they do. I would consider it an honor to go toe to toe with anyone on the planet that can outdo me in a skilled fight. the only thing that ever concerns me are pretty much what i wrote above. -
well from my first experience with it, I would say it puts together different offensive moves from several different styles. Absolutely zero self defense, everything was offense. Was interesting, but I am really not sure what to think about it at this point. I cant give it a good or a bad recomendation. I got the feeling that it was not so much a learned art, as much as a memorized art. I am going to be meeting with them again this weekend, I am not sure if my first experience with it was simply one sided due to the limited nature of what we were doing, or if that truely is the main point of the art. Will post more as i experience more

ok Blitz I went and reread my post. I never stated clearly that this never happened in my area before, so ill give you the benefit of the doubt there. I think I did mention the people were not from the area though But as far as making... SENSE.....I think the post made SENSE completely. I guess one of my pet peeves is irrelevant or completely obvious answers... And since I wasnt asking for advice on how to fight 4 guys with guns...umm DUHHH? who would? The reply seemed ridiculous and somewhat frustrating. Anyways like I said the issue is dead at this point
