Muay thai kicks?
ramcalgary replied to ShadowSkill's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
thai fighting has its limitations too. -
I get tired of eastern martial artists who say that boxing is just fighting and does not promote inner health. It is called the sweet science for a reason. Any bozo can get in a ring and fight toe to toe. It takes skill to learn to hit and not be hit. It takes focus and timing to use the double end bag or the speed bag. Before you say all boxoers are crap in self defence look at why pro kickboxing instituted minimum kick rules. As far as kata goes they serve a great purpose developing balance, strength and concentration. It is not easy to remember the sequences. Karate is a way of life. There is more to life than being able to pound someone one the street. Part of the martial way is to be wise enough to avoid confrontation. The greatest weapon is the mind.

what happened on 911 is totally diff from hiroshima. the allies were at war with japan a world war . If you want to talk about disgusting how about japan negotiating peace when they were planning to attack pearl at the same time they said they wanted peace. Japan got what it deserved and remember the atomic bomb basically ended WW2.

game plans
ramcalgary replied to Prodigy-Child's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
When I spar my plan was never to let the other guy get set. When the other person was in kicking distance i would either jam them or back away. when they were beginning to set to punch i move and change the angle. Usually though eventually I end up standing toe to toe and slugging/kicking it out. -
"Tenants of Taekwon-Do"
ramcalgary replied to Jerry Trimble's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
Hey Jerry I just watched an old video tape of your fight with leroy taylor any comments -
starving yourself will not kcik start your bodies food burning process. When you starve your body it stores fat. Try eating 5-6 meals a day not huge meals but 6 similar calorie meals. This will help your body to avoid feeling starved. i would suggest a water arobics class or similar activity. The water allows you to begin exercising and not put severe stress on your joints. You must change your lifestyle. If you only change what you eat it will make it hard for you to resist falling back into the same slump that got you where you are today. Most people watch way to much tv and time sitting around doing nothing. check out your friends and see if they have the same problem you do. Maybe you could get several of them to begin execising with you good luck and remember losing 50 pounds starts with the first pound. It will be a long process but once you have started to lose some weight you will not beleave much more energy you have

Is the world going crazy?

Who trained this guy? America that is who. As long as he was fighting the russians he was okay but as soon as he took on america he is evil. He is a scum sucking dirt bag. He deserves nothing less than execution but that would make him a martyr. He and his group are no diff than the PLO in Israel both groups are terrorists but yet bush said israel should let arrafat alone. Looks like a double standard...If the PLO supported suicide bombers had hit buildings in the US erveryone would be screaming for heads again. It is touch being the strongest military country in the world but ....picking and choosing who isand who is not a terrorist should not only depend on wether the terrorists are acting on american soil. Remember it took Pearl Harbour to occur before America got totally involved in WW 2. Before that America said it was not their war and only sent limited troops even though people in Europe were being slaughtered. I applaud the US for it's attacks on terrorism but remember not only americans die in terrorist attacks every year. All world terrorism must end. Imagine all the people living just as one. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: ramcalgary on 2002-04-06 18:02 ]

My advice would be first see a doctor to check your health before doing anything drastict Eat healthy make wise food choices....veggies ,lean meat complex carbos Tons of water If and only if you are ok'ed by a doc begin an exercise program. Try walking at first maybe some stretching just to get your body used to physical exercise

I am a 2nd dan in shotokan....ever notice that people who say belts mean nothing are usually guys who go not have high belts makes you think. being a high ranking belt does not mean you can fight but it does mean you have the discipline to stay with something and achieve a goal do not be so quick to dis people who have rank what is inside counts but people lead by example not by being tranquill and in harmony with the universe the world rewards actions

Action Movies
ramcalgary replied to KickChick's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
lots of martial arts stars do not do their own stunts chuck norris don wilson jet li all use stunt doubles for dangerous scenes it is to big of a risk for the studio to allow them to risk injury chuck norris even used a double during the last 2 seasons of walker for some martial arts fight scenes -

they may have a loyal following but on a sports network! come on
-
hey guys at 600pm mountain time today(tuesday march 26) the sports channell (TSN) in Canada ran a dog show for 3 hours. what kind of a sport is that. this network also runs the american national spelling bee every year. ya what great athletes able to turn a dictionary page faster than a superfoot wallace kick to the head does anyone else think this is silly or am i loosing and and going postal for no reason this is the same network that says it does not have time to show more kickboxing and boxing or ufc fights because it needs to show canadian content. Hey tsn get a grip most people who watch tsn do not relax by watching fufu dog with lard butt owners run laps around a gym start showing real sports or change your name to TSN (the suck*** network) sorry folks had to get that off my chest feeling better now
