I bruised my shins really bad from sparring in muay thai, but tha todesnt concern me, what does concern me is that i have lumps on a couple of diff places on my shin and once i bruised the one spot and it lumped up i kept kicking wiht that leg and i kept hitting that spot on my shin wiht the lump. my question is that is it bad to keep hitting the lumped or bruised spots once u get the hurt? what happens to your shin if i keep doing that, am i weakiening the shin or hardening it?

blocking a jab
Topic replied to STR33T GUY's topic in MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Competitive Fighting
no i dotn use that because then i have to recock my hands into position to punch and it would take too much time, for a cover up i guess that snot bad, i would just catch the jab with my right hand and give a jab or a straight right back. -
why do you get knocked out mostyl because of your chin? Whats so bad about getting hi there? i woudl think you get knocked out at the forehead or the temple the most, but its alwasy the chin.

you shoudl use alot of elbows in a fight because its the hardest part on ur body, and instead of punching with a fist which will cause you to break ur knuckles most likely, slap instead, one good slap across the ear and hell be out and just get in there, put ur chin down and start hailing with elbows, keep presing in on him, even when he punches, weather the storm and keep going.

left foot fighting stance: left hook followed by a low round kick to the leg. left jab, straight right, left hook, right knee left jab, left elbow, right elbow left jab, straight right, right elbow let me know if u need more. -
Vito - Shrugging your shoulders up will just make it worse, you MUST keep your shoulders down but hands up, shrugging your shoulders up means theyre also out of place and there is no muscle protecting it when theyre shrrugged up, so if you were to get punched in your shoulder while theyre up, u might get them knocked out of place because thyre weaker whe theyre shrugged. SO SHOULDERS DOWN - HANDS UP

Keep ur shoulders down, very important, fat donkey also made a very good point

Since my techniques are good and I feel alittle more comfortable sparring, the next step it to fight smart, and this is hard for me to do. Its hard for me to try to figure out my parters weaknesess still so im asking out guys to give me some tips on what i should look for in my opponent and how i can attack his weak spots. for example if the opponent has a bad leg block or desnt block at all and just takes the kicks than i will obviously keep hitting the leg, stuff like that. Thanks

When youre in horse stance, why is it so important to have your knee right above your heel?

Ankle Weights, Kick Development

Theyre good but really bad on the joints in long term use, if you are using them DO NOT kick fast or snap the kicks out, you have to practice slow kicks, for example, do a side kicks really slow and lock it out for 3 - 5 seconds and leave it there, than bring it back slowly. same with round kick, and possibly every ground kick. -
Im the only one from my age that does this and takes it seriously but i can ask one of my buddies form TKD that train with me, thanks for the idea that would help out alot.

Ive used it several times and it helps me alot, but i think it comes down to being cheap haha and i juist nee to hear from some otghe rpeoiple how it helped them out.

The $200 stretching machines, r they relly good? Does it work? Im thinking of gettign one because i want to desperately do a split haha. Im only 18 so i know i can do it, and when my back is against the wall and my legs are spread apart i only have 1 foot from each leg to the wall more to go, and i doubt i can stretch my self everytday like this because its really tight that i either need a parter to help me out or a maching, and i cant have a parter every night to help me out, so im asking is it worth spending this much on the stretchin mashine?

Jump reverse spin kicks
Topic replied to Topic's topic in TKD, TSD, Hapkido, and Korean Martial Arts
It depends, sometimes i endup kickin wiht my heel and sometime the bottomn of my foot and sometimes wiht the blade or the side. Most of the time the kick starts going down on an angle and not horizontally straight after i kick or start descending. Im going to put up a clip of the kick so you guys can critique it when i find out how to do it. -

Ok thanks, i think im on my way of learning it so it looks better if i just jum higher and make my body lean back more and bring my back leg all the way to the back, its tough thoguh but ill trtain hard at it. -
How long did it take you guys to learn the jump reverse spin kick and 360 jump reverse spin kick with perfection? I have been working on it for maybe a year now and its still sloppy, jumping in the air is fine but getting the kicking leg all the way back is hard to do. so i just want to know, Also is there a way that i can import some video clips from my digital camera of me performing this kick so you guys can critique it? Thanks
