Ugh, after reading that page I see there's been disagreement between Filipino GMs just like what happened in all the Korean arts. But I really don't care. It's probably all the same basic system anyway. Nasty, that is. -

Trying to get started.

Just ask your doctor if you are concerned about it. Do you really have to jump into Muay Thai just because your friend does it? There's many other arts out there. Visit a few schools and decide for yourself. And I didn't start until I was 29. -
Arnis and Escrima are names referring to the region or period where they were developed years ago. Now the terms are used interchangeably. While they seem to emphasize mostly on weapons, in reality they practice open hand techniques just as much. They are all sticks, but sometimes the shorter ones are referred to as canes.

As much as I would like to see the feedback on that question, I'm going to request this doesn't expand to other areas, otherwise it'll be locked.

Car thieves should be stoned to death in public. They're nothing but garbage to society.

Typical Filipino stick fighting will incorporate striking and grappling, although empty hand can be emphasized too. You'll be exposed to attack angles, stick techniques/disarms, various stick drills. Try it out.

I wouldn't even want to drive my vehicle that much, but it's a noble thought if it's for charity. -
What Chinese astological sign were you born under ?

Hmmm. I share the same sign as Britney. -
Karate weapons: Just for fun or practical?
ZR440 replied to ShadowGoomba's topic in Martial Arts Weapons
As the old saying goes, weapons are just an extension of the hand/arm. Especially in Filipino MA. Yeah, some weapons aren't too practical or legal to carry, but knowing the concepts are what's important. -
I suggest the run. You'd get plugged while fumbling around for your weapons.

I heard some of the Army is going to be issued .45s now.

I've only seen the video Swamped, so I don't know what the rest of their music is like. But, they made it into the Ozzfest lineup, so they can't be that bad. Reminds me of a cross between Evanessance and Rammstein. The woman singer is pretty hot too.

D, You're real close to being put on probation for a year. Anyone heard of Lacuna Coil?

A good anodize coating will be expensive. But it is a great, durable finish.
