  4. Maybe the temple you are seeing is you "sanctuary". A sanctuary is a safe place created in a meditative state that you go to when you need to de-stress. It is a technique that is sometimes taught as a stress reduction technique and in some pain management programs.   5. Kick boxing is a form of Muay Thai after westerners got hold of it and took out elbows, knees, and in some divisions kicks below the waist, or to the inside of the legs.
  6. A lot depend on the reason you want to train. Many would say a long contract sounds a bit fishy.
  7. Punches to hard areas such as the face with a closed fist very often result in a broken hand. Strikes to the same hard areas with something like a palm heel strike damage the targeted area without near as much damage to the knuckles.   9. The need for a glossary of tems was brought up before. But the people who saw the need for it and were going to begin to compile one never did.
  10. Some times blackbelt is the line that differentiates those who wanted to get a black belt from those who are black belts. Often those who just want a black belt to have one quit at shodan. While sometimes those who are truly black belts have that commitment much earlier in their training even if they are not as gifted physically.

  16. A lot on your choice of a martial art will depend on your abilities in the beginning. There are some successful martial artists out there who have CP.

  18. Plan on getting a good nights sleep the second night before the test. Often people are too nervous to sleep well the night before. Pack your gym bag the night before too so that nothing gets left behind.

Start with a free for all - all the students up on the floor at the start the idea his to punch or kick someone and they are out. Last person standing is the winner. To make it interesting limit use to only the left arm and the left leg. It is usually the left side that is everyones weak side.

He went to watch the tournament but someone noticed his gymbag and his hands and talked him into entering. He won thus beginning a long career in martial arts history in this country.
