I never was saying what to belive in, I was simply pointing out errors that would of caused misunderstandings in the current debate.

I REALLY hate when people tell you to "chill", or " relax". I see that as an immature way of tyring to place the spotlight on you, when the person is too small to just apologize. Example; Someone walks up to, takes something out of your hands and examines it. You ask for it back, they refuse, then you ask them again, this time less patient, when you finally have to tear it from their hands, you're told ot "chill". ... Morons.

Historically, Battousai, Islam, Christianity, and Judaisim do share the same god. as each built apon which was last. There is a difference between respecting someones beliefes and tolerating someones blatent misunderstanding of science or the natural world itself.

i never said if I do or don't belive in God. I, however, think Morals and Religion aren't automatically related. I live under a strict moral code, however I am a very secular person.

CodyydoC, I can't allow your insult to science, or grammar, for that matter to continue. ooohhh kay.... Where did you learn this? The theory belives that the matter started at one compressed point, and eveyrhting spread out, matter being created, objects forming. Considering your original idea is flawwed, this doesn't have any vallidity anyway, however, if it did, it would still be stupid. The accepted belief is that when celestial bodies hit planets, they became off tillt "There aren't any dents" is a stupid argument. The earth as a 23.5 degree tilt of its axis, Uranus has a very large axal tilt, and Venus, the "backwards" planet, all of these are belived to have happened because of impacts from very, very large objects. Many planets are riddled with crators. The earth has something special, however, called water. It tends to fill in holes. . What happens with a black hole, is that they collapse apon themselves. They become dense enough so that way the gravity below the area where the star used to be, is so great it bends light, hence the "black". You're thinking of the laws of thermodynamics, specifically, the law of conservation of energy, discovered by Julius Robert Mayer, and as I said before, nothing is created or destroyed, but it is compressed. I think we noticed.

What's ludacris is your lamen understainding of science, but your attempt to disprove it. The big bang didn't instantally create planets, but the matter slowly formed gas clouds, and then stars formed. eventually planets formed as well. now, saying that life suddenly sprang up is idiotic. As for life on Earth there are varying beliefs as to where life came from. Most scientists accept that basic bacteria like cells formed in the ocean (As a note, technically speaking there wasn't "anything" before the big bang. At RHICs, they're doing research onto a phase of matter called Quark-Gluon Plasma. This substance is basically a cloud of free floating quarks. (they fire gold at each other in a particle accelerator until they collide, for a split second there's Quarkl-Gluon Plasma). ) A particle accelrator is a controled environment and their goals are quite specific. They weren't trying ot create rocks, soil, dirt, oceans or anything, nor could they have, as they do their research on the molecular and atomic level. Let's take this apart one at a time how is that proof? Sentience could of arised from evolution naturaly, giving humans an advantage over other species. Who's to define "beauty"? Isn't "beauty" in the eye of the beholder? Oh please. Cite some sources for this bullcrap. For one thing, the heart can start beating again after being "clinically dead", that is, after all, what a dephibulator does. That "seeing a white light" could all be subconciously created because they THINK they saw that. Now, I doubt people survive one, let alone three bullet wounds to the head. Falling 200 feat without breaking a bone? Was he in a parachute? Ever hear of the scientific method? It starts with observation. YOu can't observe what happens after one dies. The bible is hardly a credible source of information, and hardly worth my time responding to.

Grappling arts vs Striking Arts
Cybren replied to lilolpete's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
i will agree that most people in striking arts aren't capable of defending from being taken to the ground. In my Tae Kwon Do class, when we do free fighting, I often try and see if people can defend against a good tackle or such, fortunatally a good portion can defend themselves on the ground -
Why do forms/katas begin with left movements?
Cybren replied to TKDLadyInSC's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
It was most likely related to the culture of where it was created. And, many instructers really want to see their students become involved in martial arts, outside of the training hall. -
if someone jumped on me like that, i'd just squeeze their balls. Problem solved If a female did it...well...I wouldn't mind

It is said that when you teach, you learn twice. ...

How does a student have to eran a rank
Cybren replied to yireses's topic in Instructors and School Owners
In my school, when they show that they know and can do the forms, kicks, basic self defense techniques, and the 'miscilanious' (hilarious, isn't it? It's a combonation of things like falls, throws, and rolls), it's noted by a stripe on their belt, and then when they get all of them, the student is invited to particpiate in the belt test, where they basically demonstrate what they know, spar, and perhaps do board breaking, but we don't focus as much as other schools do. This method continues until blackbelt, where the grading is different i'd think that this would apply to more then just chinese martial arts. Hope you don't mind me adding my two cents. -
Anyone use these? They're awesome, I think. While at first it's hard to imagine what a medicine ball would do in martial arts, i am thinking up more and more things to do with them.

Why is that, KOF?

Grappling arts vs Striking Arts
Cybren replied to lilolpete's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
I don't see them as different things. Honestally, I'm sure you can use striking principles while grappling, and use grappling principles while striking. I don't see the need to seperate them. -
Grappling arts vs Striking Arts
Cybren replied to lilolpete's topic in Pro Fighting Matches and Leagues
i'm not a follower of the UFC, how many were considered "early", two or three? four? Could it be possible that the grapplers during those were just better. Such as, the Yankees won four World Series in a row, is ti that their form of Baseball was supirior, or that they were just better during those for seasons? -
Maybe he lives in a rough neighberhood

They'd be more martial, less artfull

Jig Saw Mats vs. Folding Mats
Cybren replied to Pacificshore's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
We have both Jigsaw and folding mats. The dojangs flor is jigsaw mats, which as it has been said, aren't THAT soft, so if a student doesn't wish to be thrown on it, we unfold a small, softer mat (The old building we used had carpting) -
Kind of funny, I don't even know HOW to tie a belt like that...

Valithor, I wouldn't doubt it.

Samurai vs. Kali Warrior
Cybren replied to Treebranch's topic in Choosing a Martial Art, Comparing Styles, and Cross-Training
Medieval blades were more of a blunt weapon then actually sharp. They'd try to bash opponents bones and tear muscles, not actually cut. When using plate armor, a sword was quite useless. The most you could do was "half sword", where you grabbed the sword at the blade and tried to pierce through the plate. Katanas, on the otherhand where mostly used to cut oppontants, often creating mortal wounds Katanas tended to be better made, because the japanese lacked good iron, they had to make up for it. -
If a FAMILY MEMBER was ever threatning to sue me, i'd kick them into submission. Slapping family is okay: it's a good way to bring someone to their senses Suing family? That's just disgraceful
-
hahah, I think Tibby's got a point there. I have a pair of shinais, though I definitally don't have the armor. That's expensive!

Women want exactally what they tell you they don't want. What you should do is learn the polymorph: other spell, and transform into a female human. Then you can sneak into their secrete society of devil worshiping rabbits. From there, you can undermine their attempts at global telecomunication chaos.

heh, that's very specific Me too
