  1. You miss the point. I'm not saying they aren't, however the point is he grappled with one, which hardly constitutes having grappled with all of them, in order to say "they're great grapplers". I know BJJ is really a grappling art, and I don't doubt that BJJ black belts are going to be good grapplers, however, the point is, you can't just say "point one out who isn't". Anectdotes aren't accepted as evidence using logic.
  2. You obviously have no idea about logical thinking.
  3. The point is that he grappled with one of them. While I would think that they'd be good, as they'd earned a black belt, I find it silly that he'd make the large assumptiont that "BJJ black belts are good" from "My friend who is a BJJ black belt is good".
  4. No it isn't. That is in no way involving the incompetence of the justice system. If you attack someone, you're initiating the conflict. Period. Self defense is reactive, not pro active.
  5. Gray Fox was the best ninja ever, and he was chrome-esque looking. Then...he became invisible.
  6. okay...fighting with ONE practioner in no way is a reflection of all of them. You can say "That guy was damn good", but it's quite an assumption to go from "my friend beat me" to "All BJJ black belts are awesome"
  7. Wait, I abstain from sex, and religion, but I practice "martial arts" (though I dislike the term, as it would imply that I practice it in order to be used for warfare, or suggests that I'm a navy seal or something). I don't drink beacuse I'm a health freak.
  8. Bioware is making yet anther RPG, this time it's a mytholgical china-esque setting! http://www.jade.bioware.com I just hope the combat isn't lame like NWNs
  9. I didn't say I wouldn't use tactics. The two things I rely most on in a fight are tactics and flexibility (Even though i'm not very flexible when stretching..)
  10. If you enjoyed more then one Final Fantasy to any degree, your opinion on videogames is no longer relevent.
  11. I can contest that it is not fun to have medicine balls thrown at you. I once played a wacky combonation of Hockey, and Football using a medicine ball.
  12. Actually, if I could have one or the other "gifted" to me, i'd pick strength. Tactics can be learned easier then strength can be built, in my opinion
  13. As far as I'm aware, you can't "Sign away your rights" in the US either.
  14. New York accents are bad? Excuse me? As long as no one says "ya'll", I don't mind accents from anywhere.
  15. But so does politics and religion!
  16. But they don't qualify as martial arts either!
  17. Well, if that's the case, might as well remove the entire "general chat" forum
  18. Yeah, Karate Kid, I didn't find that out untill it was too late.
  19. i have been able to occassionally throw my foot up and tear someone off me from in the mount, however, they could easily push foward, and get you into a side mount if you don't do it fast and strong enough
  20. Battousai, it's a fighting game, you're not supposed to "need" to switch characters. I usually play as Kilik, myself
  21. Well, "martial arts" that aren't for fighting aren't "Martial arts" in the literal sense of the word...
  22. Your "theory" was a half assed idea you either just came up with, or read on a geocities page. Unlike your comments, mine, and others have been researched.
  23. it's called marketing. People are no longer worried about self defense, so much as a few extra pounds. Wether you agree with it, or not, they're trying to make a buck
  24. So left handed people should do them the opposite?
  25. Your original proposal was an asinine misinterrpitation of the big bang theory. Every planet in our solar system has crators in it. No ones lied to me, and Transcendence just proved my point Considering we can't observe that point in time, there isn't any way to create an inference to relate to the origin of matter in the universe(As there is stll being research done in the big bang, anyway), with our modern understanding of science Belive it or not, I'm sixteen. However, I'm able to form a coherant thought.
