  1. yes that is an interesting move......the grab the led arm however is an old school tactic.
  2. good point TAEZEE............all belts deserve respect on face value.
  3. i agree; but putting it on a resume is one thing but backing up is another. _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon florida This Message was edited by: iamrushman on Jul 26, 2001 10:41pm
  4. TAEZEE....i'm with you on the coworker thing..........but i would like to do that to the front of them and see them go backwards on there bottom.
  5. ok gentlemen......we have a good thread going here..............so i ask; is one step sparring enough? your views are important to me. thank you _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon florida This Message was edited by: iamrushman on Jul 26, 2001 9:55pm
  6. tim you have the most interesting training techniques.
  7. welcome ANONYMOUS2...,would you be kind enough to give us a little introduction in the introduction section........happy posting.
  8. perhaps breaking inanimate objects is just another form of the human challange. such as mountain climbing, scuba diving, sky diving, race car driving or piercing/tatooing ones body for instance. some people enjoy taking a sledge hammer to old cars. it's what gives us identity and individuality. _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon florida This Message was edited by: iamrushman on Jul 26, 2001 10:05pm
  9. yes i saw that..he'll need more than tylenol for that headache. thanks for the contribution on breaking techniques.
  10. all about focus and confidence.....some bones are easily broken. eg: cliavicle just takes about thirteen pounds of pressure, ribs take less. question: are there no confidence builders in your style of muay thai? or do they use repetition and heavy bag for that? _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon florida This Message was edited by: iamrushman on Jul 25, 2001 10:18pm
  11. i break boards and concrete because i know i can ..but the fat part of a baseball bat might embarrass me and hurt more than my ego.(lol) no thanks but very impressive! _________________ rushman (taekwondo moderator) 3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon florida This Message was edited by: iamrushman on Jul 25, 2001 8:51pm
  12. with all do respects; sorry, but it is a cult classic in my eyes...i used to go the the chinese movie house and watch kung fu movies with japanese/american subtitles when i was a kid and that was one of the best. i'm just old school i guess. a lot of people nowadays are hard on the new MA movies with the flying around and all. eg; romeo must die and crouching lion but those directing techniques have been around since the start, and promoted MA to what it is today. BTW i collect some of those old kung fu movies and yes i get a laugh out of them too. IMHO
  13. welcome austkd1 and i hope everything is going well down under....happy posting

  15. welcome BUDDHA to our forum and now your forum.
  16. we also have an unofficial feeling out system. also, we hold the most intense classes late in the evening (8p-9p) because the most serious students seem to show up then.
  17. so you can see sissy, with all the answers here from trained martial artist we cannot answer your question with a straight forward answer.......... perhaps you should see the scars thread for a possible answer. what do you guys think here?
  18. thats great KINKY. you seem to have a good and mature attitude..i hope everything is going well with you and your brother's TKD club.......good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
  19. oh i forgot....congrats jack with your bright new yellow belt in this forum......happy posting
  20. i agree also with the decline of true physical self defence techniques taught in schools. ( i'm talking USA schools because i have never studied outside USA) i find the reason for this is because of insurance issues and frivilous law suits. we all know some students can get carried away when practicing with one another. another reason is the turn of WTF to be more sport oriented due to the olympic movement. when i first started with TKD we were much more physical with self defence and even the one step techiques.
  21. no; there is nothing wrong with wearing your stripes. yes; it is something to be very proud of and shows that you have put in the time and sweat it takes to get them. it's just a personal choice for me because i'm with a school that did not give them to me. so therefore, out of respect i just wear a plain BB.
  22. huh........were past that now ANGUS...were talking techniques now.....but your right.
  23. this is a funny thread though.........haven't laughed this much in a long time.
  24. we use the term turning kicks when you bring your kicking foot close to the standing knee(leg on the floor) as opposed to wide around to the standing knee with the spinning kicks. yes, i use the jump back kick. it is also one of my favorites. because it can be used jumping toward/away/or straight up depending on what your opponent does. i mostly use it in clinch situation. so if the opponent move in, i jump away, if he move away i jump in, if he dosn't move i jump straight up, and execute the kick. for practice i use the swinging heavy bag, up against the wall, or a pole. hard to give examples in words. hope you understand and it helps you. humble respects with a bow
