  1. It is easier when it is two, just flip a coin, but for three rolling the dice sounds like a plan. If the dice come up as 1 or 2, read book A, 3 or 4, book B, 5 or 6, book C. Sounds good to me!
  2. Looks like the big media story in the NFL offseason continues to be Browns QB Shedeur Sanders. He has been pulled over twice for speeding, going over 100mph in a 60mph zone, and now he missed the team's rookie outing, the only rookie on the Browns to do so. The word "entitled" comes to my mind when I see the behavior of Sanders. QB news for the Browns does not get much better, their big gamble on Deshawn Watson continues to haunt the team. His 2024 injury is likely to keep him out of most of the 2025 season, possibly all of it. Looks like the Browns are going to be stuck with that huge contract because they won't be able to trade a guy who has a major injury, off the field problems, and has underperformed on the field. Nobody is going to take on all that money so even if they can trade him the Browns will have to eat most, if not all, of the contract. One of the dumbest trades and contracts in NFL history.
  3. A busy news day in the NHL, and the draft is coming up this weekend. The NHL has announced that they will extend the regular season by two games, going from 82 to 84, starting in the 2026-27 season. This will lead to the regular season starting the final week of September instead of the first week of October. It will limit each team to four preseason games. The league has made a new rule about contracts, cutting the maximum length of a contract from eight years down to seven. They also have closed the Long-Term Injury Reserve (LTIR) loophole that teams were using to bend the salary cap. This also comes with a playoff salary cap so teams can no longer circumvent the cap rules. Several trades, the most notable being that the Oilers have sent veteran Evander Kane to the Canucks for a 4th round pick in 2025. This will free up over 17 million dollars of cap space for the Oilers. Kane has a history of suspensions and fines, including for violations of the league's Covid rules, but he will bring a toughness to the team, and he can still make some plays.
  4. Going to start a new book tonight, just a question of which one. When you want to read several books all at once, how do you decide what book to read next?
  5. Fair enough. I am not a fan of either team, but I was happy when Nate Schmidt won. He was an undrafted player from St. Cloud, MN, who played at the University of Minnesota. He has been in the league for over a decade, and this was his first time winning the Cup, considered one of the nicer guys in the NHL.
  6. Panthers take game five and are one win away from being back-to-back Cup champions, which they can do Tuesday night on their home ice.
  7. Been watching some interviews with Alice Cooper and his journey through being sober for over 35 years. I'm finding that inspiring. I was lucky enough to meet him back in 2006, very polite, well spoken, down to earth, person. In a world where so many rich and famous people act entitled and selfish, it was nice to meet someone who was not like that at all, despite being much more famous than many people who do behave in those unfortunate ways. Cooper was one of my favorites as a kid and part of how I got into rock and roll, and now decades later he is inspiring me in other ways. Edit: PS - happy Friday the 13th
  8. Another overtime game, that is three of the first four. Oilers win this one, series tied.
  9. Seems kind of desperate, they don't have any other real option at QB and coach Tomin, while a good coach who has the team in the playoffs every year, has not gotten his squad to an AFCCG in a while. Always high expectations in Pittsburgh and at some point they are going to get tired of being just good enough to make the playoffs but not good enough to make a deep run once they get to the playoffs. Maybe this changes that, maybe it doesn't.
  10. YouTube. It was on Netflix years ago, not sure if it is anymore or not.
  11. Not yet. I really want to but I don't like movie theaters, and I don't know if it is streaming anywhere.
  12. I slept poorly last night so not a great start.
  13. Winger TJ Oshie has retired after 16 seasons. Oshie played college at the University of North Dakota was drafted in 2005 by the Blues, making it to the league in 2008. In 2018 he won the Stanely Cup with the Capitals. He ends with 302 career goals and 695 career points.
  14. Someone suggested I try Magnesium because it helps relax the muscles. I used it a while back and forgot about it until I heard that this morning. I will try it tonight and let you know.
  15. Panthers win game three and take the series lead. Florida needs two more wins to go back-to-back.
  16. He wasn't going to win the Cup for them, and after his comments about Jake he probably the locker room. It was time to go.
  17. You nailed the picks at 316! I hope Nunes wins but I have no idea. It will be the most anticipated women's UFC fight of all time. Maybe they can do it in NYC at MSG.
  18. Stars have fired head coach Pete Debor. He did not appear to help his case after he threw the goaltender under the bus. Good riddance.
  19. Game one went into one overtime, game two went into two overtimes. This time the Panthers win it 5-4. Maybe this will be a theme, the game number will always be the same as the number of overtimes. If so, get ready for a triple overtime thriller Monday night!
  20. I've heard that as we get older it gets tougher to sleep well.
  21. Harrison made the weight cut. Do you like Kevin Holland?
  22. This got me thinking, where does it cost the most (and least) to attend an NFL game. According to USA Today this was the order in 2024: 1. San Fransico - $750 2. Las Vegas - 745 3. Philadelphia - 673 4. Green Bay - 659 5. New England (Foxboro) - 620 6. Chicago - 615 7. Kansas City - 613 8. Denver - 609 9. Seattle - 605 10. Pittsburgh - 603 11. Tampa Bay - 601 12. Washington DC (Landover, MD) - 595 13. New York (Giants) - 589 14. Dallas - 580 15. Minneapolis - 575 16. Cleveland - 566 17. Los Angeles (Chargers) - 549 18. Houston - 547 19. Baltimore - 543 20. Carolina - 540 21. Los Angeles (Rams) - 536 22. New York (Jets) - 532 23. New Orleans - 520 24. Jacksonville - 516 25. Tennesse (Nashville) - 508 26. Indianapolis - 504 27. Detroit - 496 28. Buffalo - 493 29. Atlanta - 487 30. Miami - 480 31. Cincinatti - 474 32. Phoenix - 452 Keep in mind this is the average total cost per person, prices have many variables such as seat location, opponent, sale vs resale, cost of parking, ect.
  23. Aaron Rodgers finally has joined the Steelers on a one-year contract.
  24. Sounds like that is a long time problem to me. Hope it improves.
