Alex Ovechkin is now at 889 goals, putting him six away from breaking Gretzky's record. The Capitals have 11 games left this season so breaking it by the end of the season is possible. If not, he will break it early in the 25-26 season. The Capitals are the only team in the East to have clinched a playoff spot, the Jets are the only team in the West to have also done so. -
The No Fun League is back at it, this time making a new rule for the upcoming season that the "nose wipe" celebration will be a 15-yard penalty and is considered a "violent gesture." I never even noticed this before so maybe I was in LALA Land. I miss the days when Calvin Johnson used to dunk the football into the uprights. I miss the days when you could jump the center to block a field goal attempt. I miss the days when teams lined up for a kickoff and it didn't look ugly. I miss the days when it was a 16-game season and the old playoff format. *shurg*

The Wild hung around for most of the game but it got ugly in the last five minutes or so. Knights win it 5-1. -
Went to a small town in southern Nevada over the weekend called Laughlin, right along the Colorado River which divides the border between Nevada and Arizona. There was an arcade in the Tropicana Hotel where they had a big screen space invaders game, Halo, Jurassic Park, Fast and Furious, and an air hockey table, plus a lot more. Not a bad arcade for a small-town hotel. It was already getting too hot for me outside, only mid March and pushing 90. It was nice to be on the river though.

This is pretty much why I don't put a lot of value on awards in sports anymore, too much of that political nonsense. Not political as in Washington DC, but political aspect inside their own industry. It makes no sense to me to not allow Rose in, especially with how well connected the sports world has become to gambling. There are literally advertisements for gambling during the games. To not put him in at this point is just unreasonable and petty, but I don't put it past people in the sports world to be unreasonable and petty. Especially those in the sports media.

Cobra Kai, Season 6 (Spoilers)
KarateKen replied to Patrick's topic in Martial Arts Gaming, Movies, TV, and Entertainment
The only thing I wish we had gotten was a fight between Terry Silver and Mike Barnes, it would be awesome to see Barnes fight his former boss who also burned down his store. -
It is astonishing to me that the richest and most powerful sports league in history has a team in America's biggest market that is so clueless. The foolishness by the Jets ownership and their annual ritual of disappointing the fan base (going on nearly 15 years now) has become a never-ending soap opera of sports buffoonery. It is almost too stupid to believe. I just hope it goes on for another 15 years. I'm here for the entertainment.

Four-time Pro Bowler DeMarcus Lawrence has signed a three-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, could be worth up to 42 million. In an interview after changing teams Lawrence expressed that "Dallas is my home, my family lives there, but I know for sure that I'm not going to win a Super Bowl there."

I've trained with some students that were scatterbrained but that is different than what you are asking. -
Happy Birthday Chuck Norris
KarateKen replied to KarateKen's topic in General Martial Arts Discussion
Absolutely. I hope I can just be alive at 85. Norris is in Hawaii right now boating and relaxing on the beach. To be 85 and be that active would be a dream. -
Was still having some issues so when I had my annual doctors visit, they did an Xray. There is no damage to the bone or any indication of problems from the XRAY, so it is likely a soft tissue or tendon that is causing the pain.

Bugs? Errors? Things That Are Missing?
KarateKen replied to Patrick's topic in KarateForums.com Announcements
I haven't seen or experienced any hiccups in a while, looks to be running great @Patrick -
Norris turns 85 today, March 10. Are you going to watch Chuck Norris movies tonight or waste a perfectly good March 10th? Norris is my favorite martial arts actor and while I have never had a personal encounter with him a few people I knew over the years had met him and all said he was a great guy. Should I be embarrassed that I have years of MA training and hold rank in multiple styles but am 100% convicted that and 85-year-old man can still knock me out? Rhetorical question. Keep kicking!

The 50-million-dollar failure that has been Kirk Cousins may get a second shot in Atlanta. The Falcons have announced they do not plan to cut Cousins after his disappointing 2024 season. Trading the QB also seems unlikely because it would be a big cap hit for the team, 37.5 million, only saving the Falcons 2.5 million if they get rid of him. Either way Kirk is going to get a big paycheck from the Falcons in 2025. The Buccaneers have resigned LB Lavante David for 10 million dollars on a one-year contract. The Bills have given four-year extensions to both WB Khalil Shakir (60 million) and LB Terrell Bernard (50 million). Cowboys have resigned DT Osa Odighizuwa for four years and 80 million dollars, 56 million is guaranteed.

The groin injury that Matthew Tkachuk suffered in the Four Nations Tournament will sideline him for at least the rest of the regular season. The Panthers are hopeful he will be ready to return when the playoffs start in April. -

The Penguins have dropped to last place in the Metropolitan. Only 58 points in 63 games puts them at the second worst record in the east behind the Sabers (will the Sabers ever be OK?) at 54 points, but still well ahead of lowly Sharks who have 41 points in 62 games. Can't remember the last time I saw the Penguins in last place this late in the season.
