  1. what about ryu-kyu kempo?
  2. woohoo i figured it out. its a trick question. the cost payed by the guests was initially 30, right? there was no missing dollar. five dollars the bell boy had and the remaining 25 were with the proprietor. Yes, the guests payed 27 but they should have payed 25. this represented by the money that the bellboy pocketed. this money isn't added to the cost but represents the money that the guests SHOULD have recieved. thus the equation is 27-2 which is 25. so there is no missing dollar
  3. might i ask how old are you
  4. i doubt it. he seems to know very well what he's doing, and both of his teachers come from hong kong. so i don't see why it wouldn't exist in china if his instructors came from there. where did you hear that it is phoney?
  5. i have a friend that does.
  6. wut do you guys think of wall mounted makiwara, i was considering buying one. here is the one that i might get: http://store.yahoo.com/martialartsmart/20-85.html

  10. You are COMPLETELY mistaken, size dictates what style of fighting suits you best.
  11. what other exercises
  12. for a normal(the most common) sweep, u travel ur foot in a circular path, right? which part of their foot do you hit, and which part of your foot do you hit with
  13. how do you make your sweeps stronger and more effective? like what exercises/drillls or muscle group training etc. also what part of your foot do you hit with and what part of their foot do you hit with when you sweep
  14. have no worries about your school unless they don't spar contact and don't teach applications
  15. so unpopular? are you crazy, or just someone trying to reassure themselves? shotokan is one of the most popular chains of martial arts available
  16. i would recommend shotokan but you MUST ask the teacher if he teaches kata applications. if he doesn't, by all means DO NOT go to that school. by the way, the kata applications should be more than block kick punch block etc.
  17. anything that the striker can do ont eh ground, the grappler can do better due to positioning. you simply can't argue with that fact.
  18. this thread is actually rather interesting
  19. didyou try my experiment yet, warpspider?
  20. the striker is allowed to do wutever grappling he knows (which usually isnt a lot considering strikers only train striking). it doesnt take training to know how to bash somebody with a weapon. striking can be improvised, grappling can't. this also gives the grappler an advantage because he has a small chance in the strikers' element while the striker has none while grappling
